I've preordered a Nokia N900 and it's looking good to me so far.

I was wondering if anyone would know if the web browser would be able to stream sky sports. In the UK those with sky sports and sky plus are able to stream video of sports games on their computer. It would be great it if could.

skysports online requires microsoft silverlight for it to work, so i very much doubt it will work on the n900

It could be that silverlight serves only to select the stream, then everything is passed as a parameter to any media player (like is for Italian RAI-TV).
So in practice silverlight could be only a decoration, and a script could make its work quite easily.

I'd heard that the browser supported plugins. If so, couldn't a Silverlight plug surface, if it isn't already there?

If there's a mono stack for maemo 5, chances are, that there also can be an implementation of Moonlight for the device.

If you get all the relevant codecs in ffmpeg built for the arm platform.

wow this is such a cool way to watch sky sports online (http://www.watchlivechannels.com/sky-sports/) with nokia N900.

I have got to question the legality of this site.
