Dear friends,

I was wondering how is ipv6 supported in Maemo 5 (out of the box?) and which services are supported (does sip finally support it)? What about mobileipv6?

If you are interested in how make it work for Diablo - Maemo 4:

Thank you very much,
Best Regards,
Mattia

IPv6 won't be supported officially in Fremantle. Kernel support is still unknown (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356), but at least busybox will (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419) be configured with IPv6 support so there's still hope.

Dear Ima,

Thank you for your contribution. Well, I can see that it is not "so" urgent to implement an officialy supported ipv6 stack (but what about mobile ipv6?). On the other hand, it takes time to implement fully functional ipv6 apps. Where is the incentive to do that for independent developers? It could be nice to have, in a couple of years, a fully ipv6 Maemo ecosystem.

Cheers,
Mattia

P.S.
I hope Maemo 5 wil be at least as easy as Diablo, concerning ipv6.

It seems that was the reason it was enabled in Diablo (for WiMAX (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3455#c12)).

It depends on whether we get kernel support or have to roll our own (but even that isn't a showstopper). We'll find out soon enough I suppose.
