Hi,
I'm wondering about wired headset compatibility for this type device. I am interested in a Mono wired headset. It will obviously have to be 3.5mm. I am having a similar question with my wife's Samsung Eternity.
Do you guys know of any wired MONO 3.5mm Headsets that will work?
Thanx!

Most likely. In my experience, anyway, single-pole plugs are compatible with traditional stereo jacks. The N900 is a three-pole jack, but standard stereo headphones work. So, I don't see why a mono headphone wouldn't.

I'm no expert, but isn't a 3.5 mm jack about (on phones) having 3 bands. 1 for right, 1 for left, and 1 for mic. So when you plug in a mono, it'll just have ONE band and not three.

You need one conductor for a ground and then a conductor each for the signals. So the Nokia Head set that plugs into the 3.5 mm that comes with the 900 has to have 4 connectors. L, R, MIC, and GROUND. MONO would use 3 of these obviously.
Here's a PIC of it:

I'm sure any Headphones will work. That's not my question though. I'm looking for a MONO Headset that is 3.5mm. I think I found some though. Any Stereo Headsets will work fine.
