I use Gizmo Project a lot on my N810 when travelling. I find that it works in a lot of situations where Skype won't, particularly when needing to enter DTMF tones to navigate a phone maze. Does anyone know whether this application will be available on the N900 or whether the current version will run?

Gizmo isn't available for Fremante (yet), but SIP is supported out-of-the-box. And, DialCentral is still a work-in-progress for Fremantle. But, voice.google.com works very well on the N900.

by saying voice.google.com works you mean the website right? I was more wanting an app for that since i got used to that from my G1. the only thing if google could do is make a voip app with the similar calling rates then I would be really happy.
I used to use Gizmo Project SIP connection on the N800, it never would tell you who is calling just give a number, but it did work.

At some point, I'm sure that the GizmoProject app will work in Fremantle. And, as I said DialCentral (which is a Google Voice caller app) is being developed as we speak.

Even though I don't doubt this... has any word been made about this from Gizmo?

No, but they've kept up with almost every version of Maemo 4. So, I don't see why they wouldn't in Maemo 5. (Maybe I'm assuming too much, but they seemed very interested in the past.)

ravenphone has good maemo support especially for n810, it uses the Internet Talk SIP profile without any problems. http://www.ravenphone.com/maemo.html
