anyone buy generic nokia chargers off ebay?

Has anyone here bought a spare car and home charger for your 770 off ebay? If so do they work ok?

I purchased one that came with a battery. Turned out to be a fake battery (shock horror), and the contacts in the charger broke. I opened it up and they were hotglued to the plastic. Quality!

I bought a generic charger that came with tips for just about anything that might need recharging, including the "small" Nokia tip. It charges my 770 and my N800 effortlessly, albeit a bit slower than the genuine Nokia chargers that came with the device.

I also have a 4xAA battery charger (originally for the Archos PMA430) that accepts the small tip. It "sorta" charged my 770 (dropped off at about 80% charge), but seems to charge my N800 perfectly (only one try sofar, with 100% charged N800 battery). That, coupled with my solar charger for AAs, should keep me happy after armageddon.:D

I bought a generic charger for my car's cigarette lighter that is coiled and works perfectly. Dont' look for a 770 charger; look for a charger for (uh, is it the Nokia N90 cell phone?). Anyway, you can get them at any flea market for a couple of bucks, maybe $5. Heck, get two, for that price, one for each car.

I did buy a generic home and car charger from eBay and they both work... The reason being that American Airlines lost my luggage where I had packed the charger almost a year ago! :mad:

I bought a generic Nokia phone USB cable from an overseas vendor via eBay... big mistake. Very poor quality and didn't work.
