View Full Version : Longstanding OS 2006 dead-ends?

Today opened up an old wound --- another OS release without the ability to connect to my campus WLAN. Despite the certificate utility importing everything just fine, the TLS/PEAP options simply don't list my certs --- and when I go back in to cert manager, my user cert has disappeared.

I've yet to see it do anything else, and afaik, porting wpa-supplicant would be impossible.

Any other dead-ends or half-implemented features that still vex people? I'd love to get a canonical list and maybe get some official answers.

(Please refrain from entirely dead horses *coughossoemailcough* and other cases where we have a real answer)

I can't offer you any immediate solution, but the first thing would be to ensure there are relevant entires in the Maemo Bugzilla for the problems you describe - disappearing certs and the incorrect functioning of TLS/PEAP.

At least then you can mention the bug references to Nokians at every oppurtunity, eg. leave Ari Jaaksi a comment (http://jaaksi.blogspot.com/2007/01/status-report-2.html) (particularly if the entries have been in Bugzilla for many months and received no adequate response from a Nokia representative).

Here's my latest article on the subject (http://thoughtfix.blogspot.com/2007/01/future-of-nokia-770.html). I really hope it's clear enough. Submit a bug or add to the existing bugs :D

Bug #327 (https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=327) would seem to cover the missing certificate issue, bug #417 (https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=417) would appear to cover the problem with PEAP.
