Installing python for Nokia 770

I would like to install python for the nokia 770
so that I can use this tricorder here: https://garage.maemo.org/projects/tricorder/
Does someone know how to do this?

What version of Maemo do you have on the 770 ? OS2006 ?

Normally, installing PyGTKeditor from here (or most any package that depends on Python) should install the Python runtime automatically:
http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2006/software-development/

Yes, it will install automatically, but Python is not something you will see in the menus: it is just the engine that runs programs written in Python, like PyGTKeditor. If you see this one in the menu, and it runs, then you're done.
