Do you have fmtx-faker installed?

you need the usd widget to do # commands
goto settings and about. that will show it to you

*#0000# and *#06# work from PR1.1 (idk why they were added, might be for Symbian users)
Edit I have the same problem, a reflash solved it, reinstalling apps returned it

noobmonkey, it`s weird
I went to settings and about and it showed version unknown
is there a possibility that something went wrong when I had installed the latest version?

No,

looks like u did ps3 controller mod which modifies the kernel
Hcattaneo
2010-02-27, 12:23
how to turn ps3 controller off ?
so i take it i was correct?
you will need to reflash i think to set kernel back
Hcattaneo
2010-02-27, 12:26
so how to reflash it ?
MohammadAG
2010-02-27, 12:27
You should be able to reinstall the stock kernel without reflashing like this (has to be done as root - rootsh has to be installed)
apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher

I did it, then reboot, and the same thing version unknown :(
MohammadAG
2010-02-27, 12:37
Ok well that didn't go well, I did it and ended up with no kernel lol
Reflashed the kernel only, and yep, still showing up <unknown> here too.
Also uninstalled sixaxis-support
Edit: type set in terminal, do you see OSSO......=<unknown> ?

Try, as root:
sh /var/lib/dpkg/info/mp-fremantle-generic-pr.postinst && sleep 1 ; run-standalone.sh dbus-send --system --type=method_call --dest="com.nokia.dsme" --print-reply "/com/nokia/dsme/request" com.nokia.dsme.request.req_reboot

If it helps, thinking about opening a bug report, there already is one but the user had a /scratchbox directory and deleting it solved the problem
Hcattaneo
2010-02-27, 13:17
so how to install scratchbox
MohammadAG
2010-02-27, 13:22
I didn't tell you to install it :\

Ok, so never mind the bug report, deleted my post, problem was caused by fmtx-faker after all, removed fmtx-faker and purged the config files (dpkg --purge fmtx-faker), rebooted and it's working again.
qwerty12 why didn't you mention this? I see you did reply in the bug report (and I got the solution from one of your posts on there)

Erm, you already asked if the guy had FMTX Faker installed in post #2 thus implying that you already knew FMTX Faker caused problems. Besides, I couldn't care less. If you install programs from extras-devel, you get what you pay for.

Then use http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=532797&postcount=82 ;)
Still debating with myself about whether using g_idle_add () to get it to quit is the best of ways.

I didn't mean to say anything bad in my post, sorry if you took it that way. I know the risks of extras-devel and I'm not blaming you for it.
