I've been trying to update maemo 5 to version 3.2010.02-8 (92.2MB) , but using the application manager to download and install gives me the eroor message "insufficent space on destination drive".

Using the command line "apt-get update" does not download anything either and cloese with the following Warnings/Errors:
W: GPG error: http://moff.mozilla chinook Relase: The following signatures couldn't ve verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 667387FBFFF445C24
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resouce temporariliy unavailable)
E: Uable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

Any ideas how I could procede?

Have you got the application manager open in the background, whilst you run that command?

Yes I had. Now I tried again and got the following w/e:

W: GPG error: http://moff.mozilla chinook Relase: The following signatures couldn't ve verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 667387FBFFF445C24
W: Duplicate sources.list. entry http://repository.meamo.org fremantle/free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_extras_dists_freantel_free_bi nary-armel_Packages)
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://repository.maemo.org fremantle/non-free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_extras_dists_fremantle_non-free_binary-armel_Packages)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems.

After I ran it again as suggested, it closes with:
W: GPG error: http://moff.mozilla chinook Relase: The following signatures couldn't ve verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 667387FBFFF445C24

Looks like a vicious circle to me. I also tried to use the app manager to update maemo5, but again there was no space on destination drive, although there is still far over one GB left...

rootfs is only 256mb'ish.... - it sotores it on it's own chip..

That doesnt explain the public key error bit though :|

Disable testing / development repo's if you have either enabled. and df -h again. I think you have enough space, but good to be sure :D

That is the repository for Firefox. I don't know why they have chinook there but that's the way it is.

Those are all warnings though - there's no errors - so they won't prevent updating. Your problem is that you don't have enough rootfs space free (you need something like 45M to run the update).

Have a look at http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs_space and http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40307 (you may also find http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=500101&postcount=7 and http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=554188&postcount=9 useful).

Well, disabling test and development reps seems to do it. Now the app manager is downloading the file. But what's the connection between test/dev reps and insufficent disk space? Could someone please explain this to me?

For some reason they take up about 10mb ish... must be cache or something, but its normally your first steps to help, as you can re-enable ones you want after :D

Each repository you have configured downloads a list of the applications, dependencies, etc. in order to be able to install/update them. These take up space - for larger repositories like testing/dev that's quite a lot of space.
