Does anyone know whether there is development on wlan tv watching, taking Dbox-users into account? I understand that wlanTV is for pc-cards and I'm not sure whether that is going to be suitable for Dbox-streaming.

I'm not sure what Dbox is but if it's DVB, you can look at this:

I have both a Dbox and a pccard, and I was waiting for any news regarding this development...
I tryed streaming directlly (dbox->770), but it doens't work because the 770 doesn't accept mpeg2 streams... so I guess they need to be transcoded "on the fly"... and that can only be done on a pc..
( it could also be done on the dbox.. but it doesn't have enough CPU power...)

correct me when I'm wrong. If I use VLC for watching Dbox-stream in a laptop, VLC takes care of the decoding using laptop's capacity. Would it be possible to do the same with 770 or is the capacity of Nokia too small for that?

Apparently there is a port of TCPMP (The Core P? Media Player) on the way (december ?)
This is an amazing player that can play all sorts of video format on a device as feeble as a Palm Tungsten T (OMAP 140 MHz) ... so it would be great for the 770
And as Mpeg2 is less CPU intensive than DivX ...

Wait & Hope ...

Here an answer from Gábor Kovács (TCPMP)
We are planing a linux port, but I'am not sure if we can support the TI OMAP
1710 cpu hardware acceleartion or dsp for helping video decoding. I guess the built
in player of Nokia 770 would be a better choice even if the linux port of TCPMP
will be ready.

Does the built-in video player use DSP or hardware acceleration ?

I tried streaming TV from my NOKIA DBOX-II to my N900 running kmplayer but the stream breaks. Codec is mpgv@25fps.
Any help?
