Hi,

Anyone have any idea if the recording software listed on Maemo is going to be updated to be compatible with the new OS? I'd love to use my n800 to record voice.

thanks
Neil

have you tried installing it, as it stands for the 770? you may be able to do so with out needing it to be recompiled

It works fine for me.

yeah it works fine although sound quality isn't great. Alot of background noise and flattens to sound depth due to compression but at least it works :)

I tried installing it, but it gave me an ' incompatable' message. It sounds like maybe this was for the 770 from what you guys are saying. True? I have the n800, so that is what I need it for.

You need the version that is out for the n800:

Thanks for the link Johsua ! It was an easy download and install. It works quite well actually. One nice bonus is that the software makes it easy to attach the .wav (It provides two other file type options) file to an email if you have the email client activated.

For n800, you should install the latest 0.1.2. I have it working on mine doing both iLBC and WAV.

I have some old recordings in iLBC - anybody knows how to convert iLBC, 1 ch, 8000Hz, 8bit format to WAV?

Also, having 4GB SD card I have planty of space to record at 20000Hz but the quality of recording is not configurable with maemo-recorder. Any ideas?

You can try posting a feature request on the garage site. For wav quality setting I don't imagine it will be that hard to add it on.
