hello! question -
i got no prob sharing media library and streaming media onto my n900, but cant make it see 'normal' shared folders, like my laptop does, for instance. Is it supposed to be this way?
--------
i mean streaming on n900 when u r near comp is quite pointless. good thing is that i can copy stuff off the streamed folder to the tablet, but i still need regular sharing to copy stuff FROM tablet TO comp.

I am not aware of any "bricking" issues. I use or have used wizard mounter on my N800, N810 and now my N900. Never really had a problem with it.

You may experience permission issues on remote mounts.
Take care.

Of course I can only speak from my own experience, but I never had any problems with using Wizard-Mounter.

It works like a charm for me, and I use it for almost everything - developing applications (writing the code on my PC and instantly test-running it on my N900 through the mounted folder), watching videos at night, copying files without having to connect my device to the USB port and downloading directly to my PC download folder.

Open windows media player and add your required folders as shared in the library.

Open media player on the phone and press your PC's name in the lower left and play everyhting you shared on the PC.

Thats all I do.

are you using n900's file manager to look for those shared files?
