I think Quick Launch has the feature to select up to four applications upon opening the lens cover.

Tweakr also does that I think.

dsmetool -k /usr/bin/camera-ui
To stop it permanently, move the file /etc/X11/Xsession.post/17camera-ui.

Thanx but to be really i don't know what to do with that, just type it over in Xterminal?\
or first sudo gainroot (little bit of a noob:P)

Of course it's geeky. It's the N900 we are talking about. It's Nokia's gPhone. The "g" of course stands for geek. Brand X has an iPhone. I will leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine what the stands "i" for.:D

Yes, you'd need root first of all.
Here's how I'd do it: (Only because I fail at using mv)
sudo gainroot
cd /etc/X11/Xsession.post/
cp 17camera-ui /home/user/MyDocs/ **put it in a folder for backups**
rm 17camera-ui

Since I installed fcam after using it, opening the lens cover stops launching the camera app. Though I think it might start working again when you start the camera app yourself and after that until you use fcam again.
Im after the same sort of info but how to disable the camera button.
Soon as i touch it it opens the camera app even if i brush past it it opens the camera app, seems the button is now super sensitive since the phone was droped
So any solution for this ?
Thanks

I'have type it exect the same to Xterminal (an have root already) but the cam still open? (i dident typed "** put it in a folder for backups**) just to MyDocs would work for me!
Got quick-launch installed an that works for me!

You have to reboot for it to take effect.
dsmetool -k /usr/bin/camera-ui
To stop it permanently, move the file /etc/X11/Xsession.post/17camera-ui.
If you are using quicklanch camera lens shortcut, do NOT do the above, nothing will work!
:WARNING:
continuing on from above post....
I installed quicklauch 0.5
added camera lens shortcuts
then, I moved the "17camera-ui" file as written previously..
this broke functionality of quicklaunch, so I moved file back.
BUT, the quicklaunch camera lens shortcuts STILL do not work!
tried rebooting, removing battery.... nothing works, dammit!
MOFO!!!!!!
okay so I fixed the above problem... (as camera and flashlight would NOT work!)
I uninstalled FCam and quicklaunch, then re-installed quicklaunch..
Was it fcam? as I was getting the error: "camera in use by other app"
