I used to be an owner of a Zaurus C860. I was wondering if anyone has tried porting the pi-sync suite to the N800. I have searched the forums but haven't come up with to much. I find the GPE pims quite limited and the opensync plugin doesn't seem to be happy with a lot of the fields in Kontact.

I am also wondering if someone can point me to a dev kit for the N800 as I am keen to start hacking - searched maemo but couldn't find anything obvious.

Thanks for any help.

ps Anyone know if there is a beta for Canola which supports OGG playback?

I, too am a former Zaurus (5500 & 5600) user, and would also love the pi-sync apps. However, they use the QT toolkit, rather than GTK+/Hildon, so I think porting would be at least moderately difficult, certainly beyond my skills. I'd love to see it, though.

The easiest way to get a devkit up and running is the
maemo vmware appliance (http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/702), which you can download and use with vmware server or player, both of which are free downloads. There are also instructions on maemo.org (http://maemo.org/downloads/releases.html) for installing the devkit on your own Linux machine, but I prefer the appliance.

Thanks for your reply. I am downloading the dev kit now. I know a lot of the zaurus roms shipped with pi-sync pims by default (pdaxrom I think) so I guess it shouldn't be too difficult to recompile the QT Toolkit. It depends on how large. I'll have a look when I get back from work (Christian Youth Worker - Gap Year) later.

Let me know if you make any progress! I'd love to see these apps. My favorite part was the ability to ssh sync with a Linux desktop.
