hey guys i downloaded a couple of themes from the Ovi Store because i liked the wallpapers. right now i want to extract the wallpapers and turn it into an imageset (wallpaper set). i've searched and to access the themes folder i have to have access to root and enter '/ usr/share/themes' but whenever i type in root or sudo gainroot followed by entering the directory, i keep getting 'permission denied'. i already have rootsh installed.

..or am i just doing it wrong? is there any other or right way for me to extract the wallpaper from the themes? and once i extract it will it be in an imageset form?

The simplest way would be to install CuteExplorer (http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/cuteexplorer/), open the images and save them anywhere you like :)

Many ways to do this.

To explore your root directory on your phone with a GUI, and move files in and out try out "FileBox".
Very good tool.

tap on the file. It will open with the default image viewer. Tap on the options rollout, then save as, then location (you choose where), save.

That's it :D

How about removing all the icons and making a screenshot?

(I kid, it would also screen the menu bar, but it'd work, right?

i want to save it in the .images folder. but whenever i tap back continuously i'll end up at usr only. i can't go to the primary folder.

Wait... there is no "back" to tap when you have opened the image. :eek:

Did you open the image and tap save as or did you try to copy/paste in CuteExplorer?

now that is a whole different question and my answer is... I really don't know...

But why do you need to pack them? I have made 10 wallpapers and uploaded them on n900wallpapers.com as 4 separate images... never had any complaints :D

Make sure the images you want are displaying on your desktop, then you will find a copy of these images placed in/home/user/.backgrounds

ie:
/home/user/.backgrounds/background-1.png
/home/user/.backgrounds/background-2.png...background-4.png
copy them to where ever you desire.

To make an image set place this file in '/home/user/MyDocs/.images/<Your image set name>' changing the files names to suit.[Desktop Entry]
Type=Background Image
Name=Digital Nature 1
Hidden=true

X-File1=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/digital_nature1_01.jpg
X-File2=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/digital_nature1_02.jpg
X-File3=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/digital_nature1_03.jpg
X-File4=/home/user/MyDocs/.images/digital_nature1_04.jpg

X-Order=01

Or join them as one image. Ensure total resolution is 3200x480. N900 will recognise it as one image and it will show up in your image set.

Easy.
