I want to use Ubuntu 10.10 with easy debian (to chroot into it)! At the moment i'm using the 9.10-karmic image from qole to use programms like Kile, Filezilla, Firefox (full), Thunderbird, Dia, Inkscape, Gimp and Xfce-Desktop.
There is also another thread for booting into 9.10, where are instructions to boot in the ubuntu-netbook-10.10-preinstalled-netbook-armel+omap.img. I also asked the question there and in the easy debian thread, but didn't get an answer (so i decided to open a new thread for this problem): "cannot execute su: exec format error"
The omap image should be compiled for arm, some people were even able to boot (with disabling watchdogs, may be this is the problem?), so it's not the wrong architecture at all, or am i missing a point?

Hm, with power-kernel it's working! Tried 2 times before with the stock kernel... Will hopefully post further details after investigating.

unfortunately dpkg is crashing (randomly) may because of input/output errors in /var/lib/dpkg/*, actually i'm trying to build a minimal-rootfs with rootstock...

Built successfull with root-privilegies, tgz is 95,9MB. Problems i encountered (and solutions which worked for me):
-group crontab not exist -> rename group in /var/lib/dpkg/statoverride to root
-Locale Warning -> use localedef to set your language
-user messagebus already exists -> userdel messagebus
-libgtkstylus.so not found causes reboot -> copy file from debian package

Mate,
Are you sure you're using Ubuntu via Easy Debian??
Post up some screen shots to show how you are, please.
We are all running NITBuntu via SD Card as a standalone OS.

I would love you help, but I'm confused, I thought we only had Debian in "Easy Debian".

Qole has easy ubuntu image that works with easy chroot:

Holy SH!!!!T! Sorry! I've been gone for a few weeks!

THANKS!

Are there any instructions on how to use that? I still want to keep my Debian.

Easiest way is to just edit your .chroot file to point to that image instead of the debian image. Edit back to use debian again.

He also posted a Fedora12 image:
http://qole.org/files/fedora12-m5-v1a.img.ext2.lzma

BTW this might interest you as well:
http://qole.blogspot.com/2010/11/running-meego-handset-in-n900-chroot_06.html

Running MeeGo on Maemo in easy debian, no rebooting required :) It is slow but it works.

Qole is great :)

i used qole's ubuntu-karmic-armel-rootfs for a long time without unsolveable problems! But i failed to perform an upgrade to lucid and like to use karmic for the newest versions. At the moment i'm stuck with my image, http and dpkg crash randomly and sometimes even reboot. Would be nice to have an image to chroot in without problems, the maverick-preinstalled-netbook-armel+omap image is not working for me!

Already asked in the Easy Debian thread and got an answer: Seems to be a bug in the thumb instruction set! Gathering further information...
