SFAIK the Navicore kit for the N770 is no longer available and N770 owners will have to purchase the N800 kit and download the N770 installation file direct from Navicore.

If anyone is in this position I am happy to make a swap of the holder. i.e. your N800 holder for my N770 one.

For clarity and I hope you don't mind the bump Rebski...

The N800 mounting apparatus supplied by Navicore has two part numbers...

The clip itself (mounting plate) reads:

Nokia
Type CR-86
MADE IN HUNGRY
070021871301003196

There is also a smaller label that just has what could be a lot number:

302081

The suction cup base or the "horn" (where this clip attachés has a label that reads:

Nokia
Type HH-12
MADE IN GERMANY
0700189711501003108

Are you looking for the whole thing or just the holder "clip" by itself??

BTW, does anybody know if these parts can be purchased separately?

The ‘horn’ is what Nokia term the Car Holder part no. HH-12. The ‘clip’ is what Nokia term the Mobile Holder – N770 part no. CR-81 and N800 part no. CR-86.

My assumption is that the arrangement for affixing the Mobile Holder to the Car Holder is common to both the CR-81 and CR-86.

To be on the safe side and to avoid the possibility of multiple packaging and posting it might not be a bad idea to swap the entire mounting kit. I am in the UK and overseas shipping (if need be) is not that cheap and best to avoid doing it more than once.

If requested, then I am happy to swap my kit, i.e. HH-12 + CR-81 + retaining screw for a HH-12 + CR-86 + retaining screw.

I have run the part numbers through Nokia Accessories search facility but came up blank.

Rebski, do you still have this available? I have been looking for the CR-81 everywhere online and can't find one. I have, however, seen the CR-86 online as well as the HH-12.

The HH-12 is universal for all Nokia mounts (including both the CR-86 and CR-81) so that part wouldn't need to be shipped.

Actually, since you can purchase the CR-86 online, maybe you would be willing to sell me your CR-81 for the price of the CR-86? I would then buy my own HH-12.

In other words, if you can find the CR-86 online for £12, I would pay you £12 + shipping (to USA) for the CR-81. That way, you could simply buy the CR-86 there in the UK and avoid the international shipping of the CR-86.

Interested?

Scbauer, that is fine by me. Are you able to direct me to the link to purchase the CR-86?

I have been unable to find a source for this.

I'll go try to find it again. I believe it was on Nokia's website, but it might not have been nokia.co.uk

I'll PM you.

Resurrecting this old thread - does anyone know where the CR-86 is available from? I have the HH-12 easymount and CR-81.

Meh - I contacted Nokia customer services only to receive the MOST useless response in the world.

Thank you for contacting the Nokia UK Online Shop.

The Nokia UK Online Shop carries an extensive range of Nokia products. The CR-86 is currently not included in this range.

I am keeping an eye on sites like this
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10356.htm
As you can see, they stock mobile holders for every Nokia device apart from the N770 and N800 but, who knows, that might change.

Hi all. I was wondering whether it is possible to put the n770 in the n800 mounting kit.

I have both a n770 and n800, and use my n770 as sort of a backup to the other, eg in case I forgot to charge the n800, or in case I am going into a rough area, where I appreciate the included hardcover on the n770. I am interested in buying the navicore package for the n800, and using maemomapper on the n770 (since the product activation is apparently bound to a single device).

Therefore, I am wondering just how different the cr81 and cr86 are. After seeing this old post on thoughtfix's blog : http://tabletblog.com/2006/01/gps-arrived.html
I am wondering whether they really are not interchangable, eg. is it really not possible to put the n770 in the n800 mounting kit?
