Root help

Please will someone give me the easiest and quickest way to gain root access. I have a mac running OS X so I hope that works. I can easily put ubuntu on my computer if thats easier. I know of the maemo.org site but its not that easy to follow. Someone help me out. Thanks.

Install OpenSSH and then login as root either locally or remotely, with the password = rootme.

Okay but where do you install openssh? I seriously need someone to guide me through it.

You can install Dropbear SSH from here: http://www.komputika.net/maemo/
In general you can find software by clicking on the "Software" link on the top of every page on this site. It will take you to maemo.org where you can search for software by name type.
