I've attempted to install e2fsprogs and openssh using both the application manager and apt-get from Xterm, and I get 404 errors, "unable to fetch some archives" - for example:

"Failed to fetch http://repository.maemo.org/pool/maemo2.0/free/e/e2fsprogs/e2fsprogs_1.37-2sarge1_armel.deb 404 Not Found [IP: 204.2.179.72 80]"

Nokia770-49:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
#maemo:essential

deb http://catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com/non-certified/ mistral user

Now I know this worked a couple days ago. I'm not sure if I changed something, but sure enough I can navigate to those locations in my browser and get a 404. If I change "maemo2.0" in the url to "mistral", and open it from within the 770, I can install manually that way (well, openssh anyhow).

Surely this is some sort of mistake, symlinks lost or something, but I don't know who to contact to notify them. But then it could be something with how I've configured apt.

EDIT: for anyone else experiencing these 404s, try changing "deb http://repository.maemo.org mistral free non-free" to point to "gregale" instead.

It's still not working... Some one posted this on maemo-users:

When I click the installer for OpenSSH from Maemo download site, it fails to add repository and install. I manually entered the repository, and try to install openssh-installer I get ... "Unable to download. Package not found."

But I am able to browse the repository manually...

http://mg.pov.lt/770/dists/mistral/user/binary-armel/

and download the package (openssh-installer_0.1-1_armel.deb) manually.

What do you mean "point to"? What would the full entry be?

Figured it out:

"deb http://repository.maemo.org gregale free non-free"

I just got my 770 on Saturday, and after reflashing it half a dozen times and reinstalling all of the software, I discovered the same problem and solution mentioned here. However, changing the distribution to gregale and installing openssh seem to break Claws talk. Once I've installed Openssh, Claws will get always get a segmentation fault whenever it tries to load. Has anyone else seen this side-affect?

Claws is not built for "gregale", only mistral and bora. This explains the crash (ABI probably changed).
