Is it possible to make osso-status-bar plugin in python ?

but nothing about stuff like this being possible with the current OS.

Probably the Maemo 4.0-based OS, codenamed Chinook which will be compatible with the N800.

Date... unknown. But the SDK is out there, at least in alpha form.
