ok, here is the funny thing, I got someone in Australia said he can update his n9 from the nokia software updater. so i tried that as well, when i connect my n9 to the updater, there was only one thing that I can do, only one option: reinstall the 1.0 version if i want to, anyone check your austrlia n9 in the usa? are you able to update it no matter via phone or updater?

I already consider to flash my phone into Europe version.

i think it's worth flashing because regions that get the updates first nowadays are likely to also get it first in the future, so if you pick the right region you'll always have the updates first

the only possibly bad thing is that if an update causes issues you'll be the first guinea pig, so then it's better to wait till they learn from the first wave

do you get any problem with the cam, the terminal or something else?

u r right, no body wants to be the guinea pig, maybe versions such as Singapore could be a good choice. or maybe, even the chinese version which is always the last one. lol. (i just make fun of my own country, most of`em made in China but launch very very late.)

I had Australian Variant PR_299 which is not even on navifirm, (not the NDT Australia version which is there), no update whatsoever showing up. I flashed to the Northern European version. Works perfectly so far.

Same here, flashed the 001 variant, no issues whatsoever. WiFi hotspot still doesn't work though.

For WiFi hotspot you need to use the known workaround. It won't work out of the box with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Correct, this is not a bug, its been made to disable itself in the US, so flashing new firmware will actually never fix it. The known fix works well so use that.
