[solved!] New HP Pre3 user here. Where is the send button in SMS?

I am going nuts... I cannot seem to find a way to send an sms.
No send button? What the Hell?!

This OS (using it two days now) is fantastic but sometimes it makes me feel like I'm losing my mind.

Please guys... can you help? It sounds stupid but how do I send my message?
*first picture is the problem. No send button. In second picture (emails) send button is there.

It seems the first screenshot is not the messaging app itself. Maybe a sort of discussion? What's this text button at the top?

it's a disscussion allright... like the one on the N9.
but there should be a send button there.

did you try to type text once on the homescreen?

It should prompt you to choose between several actions and one of which should be messaging

or yes, maybe a reflash would be the way to go :)

The return gesture just gets me back. To the list of my disscussions.

My problem is that ,inside a disscussion, I cannot send the text i wrote to the recipient

You might need to redoctor the phone to return to the default behavior. I agree with Mitrigol that it seems like a patch was added to that phone if it is not a new phone.

seriously man, I've been busting my balls since yesterday.

same thing goes for 2g/3g selection (no added apps/applets. i know there are applets for making this easy)


it was a well hidden option inside the dialer! Not even in settings.
Anyways, thanks for all the replies! It's my first "alternatives" topic here on TMO.

Great device the Pre 3 is. WebOS reminds a lot of Harmattan (or vice versa tbh)
great OS but somewhat tricky.. even for the simplest things.

No. Enter key just moves the cursor to the next line of the message. just like in MS Word, or Notepad

Yeah, you are probably right. The guy who sold it told me he cleaned everything.

but.. something has survived ("Jurassic Park 2" quote)

Because, i am sorry but i do not know this os and can therefor not really help you more than this... without having one i my hand, that is :)

Install Preware and there are few tools that allow to remove all installed patches. It's quite useful, time to time, if you ask me. I can find the exact names, if you want me to, but I'd need to find my HP Veer first.

You should find all your answers at the webosnation forums, but I must warn you: webOS community is nowhere near as good as Maemo community :(

Installed Preware, removed all patches.
Everything works great now!!
