Is a jPhone an iPhone for electrical engineers?
Completed the payment some 6 hours ago around 5 PM Finnish time.
The phone is EUR 399 right?
Is there a separate shipping charge and/or credit card charge? How much is it to the UK?
Hopefully EUR/GBP stays at 0.833 by the time they send me the link, because I need to know how much ££ to free up...

Seems like order # is the number of ordered devices? I ordered earlier and I am 389. So we can have a rough count of paid devices.
Order number does seem to be sequential. I managed to put two orders in a few minutes apart by accident and they were 38 apart. I've only paid for one of them - no need to be greedy :-)

The other thing bugging me is Ltd TOH is just another coloured one... well it is like 250eur cheaper than the n900 was so who cares... I will buy a qwerty TOH as soon as available but I guess the first TOH will be some geeky telescope/opticals mount as photo equip seems to be always first^^
People moaning about specs need to keep in mind that iOS and android are such heavy OSs that they actually need the hardware of those 800eur devices to run smooth. My dualcore tab behaves rough sometimes even without any programs hogging... just the system on its own!

Well, yes and no - orders can be cancelled, invalid, failed payment. You can estimate that a proportion of that number are successful ones ;-)
EDIT: one order can contain multiple devices as well.
Also, the "2" at the beginning may mean something, often the site/store where you are selling from. So you will be restricted to a site/store. Perhaps DNA has their own, and we know nothing about what's going on in China.

Maybe find a sign of faith in delivering a good product by Jolla in the fact we are allowed to complete pre-order payment till Dec 2nd, days after the DNA party is finished and the drunken rants that will pass as first reviews have hit the internet during during the cold night of Nov 27th - 28th. :p

I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I will be completing the purchase of my 2 Jolla devices today/tomorrow. Have to say the omens are looking good at this stage. Have been talking to a Finish friend and he says there is a very good appetite for the Jolla phone over there, especially now that Nokia are selling up Devices to Microsoft. If anything, the official announcement of the sale is going to spur sales to Finnish folks, who are by and large very supportive of homegrown industry.
Paid this morning (PayPal).
But, even more important, folks, this is my first post here since almost exactly two years!
So looking forward to this.

Go here (https://shop.jolla.com/sales/order/history/) to check your order history in the Jolla shop (incidentally, this is different from the other two Jolla accounts on the main Jolla site). You might have to sign in again with the password provided in the invitation to pre-order email, and then click on "My Orders". You should havepaid in the Order status column.

Yes contacted now, in shop under orders it says you have placed no orders.
My order number started 100000xxx though.
Edit: 30 minutes after sending the email they sent me the confirmation, and fixed my orders page.
Finally made it. Just in time. Germany's Black Friday is called Cyber Monday. Today, it features a BB Z30. Very seductive.

Maybe ask them? The product is not technically on sale to the public, this counts as a private sale, and one could assume that the phone works for every operator of the country you are buying from. More specific technical details should come in a manual or something... and we'll get some sort of manual this week apparently.

Frankly, isn't the hardware equal to your average generic China phone?
I know the camera will suck somewhat, that there there is no keyboard, that there probably is no FM transmitter.
Leaves the LCD to top the balance.
Although confirmed IPS, the LCD should be tested by looking it in eye and see if it will serve to share daily joys with.
Last time that I trusted blindly that it would be ok, it was far from OK and I had to resell the device (N9)
Software specs would be more interesting.
After all I think we buy this device for the software.
On Thursday I will be checking here to find a listing of the initial Sailfish integrated services + security features.
Also I wonder how the Android apps that use camera and integrated microphone will behave (like Jitsi alpha XMPP for example)

Back to your topic, check Sammy's S4's tech specs and they aren't too different from what Jolla is providing, so I'm not sure what you are after in terms of specs. Like I said: ask them or wait for the manual to perhaps reveal more? I doubt they'll state the speed of the RAM and flash or any interesting benchmark or anything that might confuse users.

These are remarkable numbers for a start-up with 80 employees, truly outstanding. I haven't paid mine yet, might wait for the afterparty on 28th of November. Still got a couple of concerns about the functionality, it is still beta OS. But, I may change my mind any time though.

According to me with highest order number 2017 that would mean almost 3k devices ordered on Monday, second ordering day (but sure, cancellations, paypal disputes and all... lots of them could disappear)

Maybe N900 is sending a message that it would like to quit service. Maybe it wants me to give love a new chance. Could it be Jolla is the next one?

To be objective, you took 2 risks:
Short term: hardware may not be up to your expectations. And don't be fooled. I'm not talking about the CPU/GPU, but about reception, call quality, construction, etc..
Long term: _if_ Jolla doesn't make it, you won't get precious OS updates.
That said, you will get a Beta of the OS - hopefully it isn't search-giant's concept of Beta (which isn't even Alpha), but a more mature and tested Beta. And they say they'll listen. So you'll get updates and hopefully good ones.
Physical keyboard? Well, that will depend on how successful Jolla is as well. May I remind you that there is a thread for that in TMO and that Jolla personnel was watching that thread very closely. So there is a good chance that you'll see something in the future. It is the first time that you can buy a phone and you can worry about the physical keyboard later. That's good.

In other news, I was asking in another thread about the starting point of the sequential order numbers issued on payment with regards to the First 450 who bought theirs yesterday. I have 0 worry about software because they will patch it up and if they stop support we will have android apps, so it won't be like N9.

True, it was and is a valid question, and to some people it doesn't matter how good the phone in overall is if one feature is missing. It's certainly a personal preference. I was just humorously noting Lumiamans post because he seems to always bring up the corporate e-mail sync aside from the complete bashing of anything related to Jolla and their phone, in relevant threads about Jolla of course... :)

Just open a thread for non-EU people to get somebody in the EU to ship them the phone so that we're aware of demand, then people can agree on some ground rules, such as that they aren't responsible if it doesn't work, they'll wait for your money first, prefered courier, etc. etc..

To be honest, I'm happy with the suspense. It isn't like GTA V or something spoilable like that, hehe. It would be nice to get it before Christmas though, although they did say that it would take 3-4 weeks, which is very close.

GTA V wasn't "spoilable" at all. Well, maybe with the Online, yes. Anyhow, but it definitely does not have the suspense that Jolla gave me too :D

They're selling to EU, Sweden and Norway only at the moment. Probably because of the cellular modem issue (they have a production run of x devices, can they include the various regional modems in that?)

Most likely it means that you cant do _new_ pre-orders as that offer was already closed, current paid pre-orders are valid for 6 months if I remember right.

Well, today is the last day for completing payment if you want this to be your xmas gift. I've decided to not go for the phone this year. Probably, late January or early February will do. I might watch how it evolves. If no substantial fw update is out, I pospone the purchase until June for sure. I guess that is enough time to fill the actual gaps in the OS. For minimal fixes there are always folks from the community, as seen from the glorious N900 era, but there is too much unattended stuff at the moment that requires some true hard work.

In fairness, they mean 3-4 weeks from the moment you pay, that's why they set the limit to Dec 2 - it wouldn't work out for Christmas anyway, but they were being pessimistic, so hopefully whoever was able to pay will get it.

Because google has been returning bad quality results for the last few years. I use TMO's search, it works just fine.

One clarification regarding the 'in picking' status that I didn't realize before:
- if you look at the link you got when you pre-ordered the phone (reachable from jolla.com -> My Orders), the one that has the 'hex' order id, that one probably will keep at the 'Paid' status.
- but, if you look at the link you got by email when you completed the payment for the phone (i.e. shop.jolla.com -> MyOrder), the one with the 2xxxxxxxx or 1xxxxxxxx order id, there you can hopefully now read that your device is 'In Picking' status.

Yeap, you are right... second question here https://jolla.com/faq implies that even folks in "yet unsupported" countries would get it, as they were allowed to pay 40€. But we know they won't (USA, Australia, etc.).
I still remember them saying that they were serving Finland first *shrug*. At the very least they'll get it first because it will be easier transport wise.
