So with Android apps do soft buttons appear?
Is there G+ app (native or android) for jolla?

#SailfishOS is much faster on this hardware than MeeGo-Harmattan was on the N9. MUCH faster and more responsive.

Does the event screen include RSS feeds like it does on the N9?
Thank you!
Ok, so i'll be able to import contact and calendars from google, tahts good.
The question about G+ still remains ;) ;)

Show us the terminal! type uname -a & cat /proc/cpuinfo! What are the repos avaliable by default on zypper?
Aaaan one more question:
Is it possible to install Google play? :D
Aaaan one more question:
Is it possible to install Google play? :D
Nope. Not supported by Google or Jolla (APIs).
Show us the terminal! type uname -a & cat /proc/cpuinfo! What are the repos avaliable by default on zypper?
Hmm, enabling developer mode and terminal seems to require developer registeration.

Damn straight! That is what we need, indeed!!
Kollin, why don't you just stick with androphone and google? Who needs google on jPhone?
Imported successfully contacts with bluetooth from my old N900. Contacts seems little too simple after N900 and N9.

Ok, so my hope now is that there will be a decent G+ app on Yandex :(

Anything in particular standing out?
During launch party Jolla CEO Pienimäki and spokesman for DNA both stated that now is the time for the customers to start giving feedback to Jolla.
The question is: WHAT IS THE FEEDBACK CHANNEL? (if it is Twitter then I loose hope)

I only need a G+ app, contacts and calendars will be accessed by carddav and caldav ;)

Well, above your post is Jolla employee asking for feedback ;)

Love to see arrows. Love arrows since very bad onscreen movement in forms.
Can you set up Mozilla sync in the browser?

And it looks like real bash, not some crippled version. :D
Anything in particular standing out?
It took some time to actually find the app. It is now "People", not Contacts anymore, and it has more features than when you use the "contacts" from the phone app. Maybe they should have used "People" term also in the phone app, so there wouldn't have been confusion :)
For some reason I cannot anymore install any apps from Jolla store. Installation fails. I don't know if it is problem with Jolla store or my Jolla phone. Will have to check if I can install Android apps.

Problems on Yandex store.
On screen keyboard keeps on crashing for me;
I have developer mode on.
On the other hand (half??), sync with N9 over bluetooth was a bliss :)
I love it. I do not know it yet (the phone), but I love it.
Even tho it has non-rounded edges (too used to n9 maybe).

Perkele...:(
But its working elsewhere?
Yes, IT IS fingerterm.
Yup, just wondering someone mentioned no landscape except camera, please tell me it's not true and it works (n900 version did, but had no idea how to turn the emulator sideways, turning my laptop didn't work)

For term you can force orientation auto / landscape / portrait
WTF do you mean with a developer account is required?
I think it has to do something with EULA, it's said there you grant Jolla all the rights to use and/or redistribute all the changes you've made to the phone's open source components. Maybe the developer account stores the changes you've made? I don't know, just my guess.
Does the main UI support landscape like hacked Harmattan does?

And one more issue, starting settings from home screen opens up with on screen keyboard on :(.
Might be related to yandex crash tho. Will verify.

Harmattan didn't require any such nonsense. Any changes you make you don't have to provide back if you don't redistribute them. And what are you redistributing when hacking your own phone? Storing changes you make? This is severe privacy violation.

Not at present. Landscape in general is a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

Shitty move from Jolla. But there's a toggle to enable developer mode? Term is there but hidden or not? It has to be installed like N9? What about file manager, comes with one?

I'm sure that I - like everyone else - is getting as much information as they can from wherever they can right now. This is something big to us.
Well, on the other hand, I'm one of the few not out celebrating in Helsinki... Pah. :)

I don't know why this is off the top of my head. I'll try find out tomorrow.

w00t, I think it's a prime time for Jolla to launch an official community infrastructure (with forums and etc.). There was a post about it, (http://mer-project.blogspot.com/2013/11/a-sailfishos-co-creators-community-in.html) but so far nothing came out. So it's past due!
I've spotted the developer mode in the video posted before https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xdBb_TnjZy0 time to calm down ;)

Anything in particular standing out?
Off topic, kinda, but.....
I'll rather ask here first. Do you have any plans for further localizations? Not that I need any other language, but if you have plans to extend this for smaller markets like this dump I live in, I'm willing to help. I'll never submitt any app but I could help with this.

My Jolla's settings went haywire. I had to reset the device back to factory condition and restart from the beginning. After that I was able to enable developer mode and without developer account.

Extremely minor nitpick, but since we're giving feedback.
Not sure if the that screen needs both the danish Velkommen! and the norweigian Velkommen!, since they are spelled 100% identically. Altough, it could work as nordic language puzzle for non-nordic users.
I'm sure that I - like everyone else - is getting as much information as they can from wherever they can right now.
This is excellent and highly apreciated. Anyway, my feedback to Jolla is:
Announce what is the preferred/official feedback channel. At the same time keep on listening these unofficial channels.
My experience is that you need these both types of feedback if you want to collect any useful information.
Must be a patent infringement to call it a battery cover:p
That is nice statement!

Yeah, but try telling a Danish person that they're really writing Norwegian and they'll probably glare at you. :-p
In my experience its more productive to tell danes that they really ought to try learn to speak swedish properly.

Kollin, why don't you just stick with androphone and google? Who needs google on jPhone?
Because currently many apps are Android (and other crap) only. Not being able to install the play store isn't a real problem per se, but simply trying to get APK's will get really annoying really fast. I see myself battling with customer services trying to get a direct link to a APK, hitting brick walls of "What do you mean? Simply download it from the play store"-idiocy again and again.
I guess Jolla users will get first hand experience just how much grip Google has on the Android ecosystem...
Yandex registeration didn't work with mobile phone number recovery. It complained wrong country. I had to use secret question mode.
I don't like the touch keyboard on the Yandex.Store. Maybe it is the default keyboard for Android apps but I hope not.

Expect first devel repo only app that works with play store in the upcoming days(hours?), which could be problematic as all Jolla users will enable devel :/ and then google will start coming up with ****blocks... Will be interesting for sure

It is the Poppy Red (Orange). It has printing "THE FIRST ONE" and jolla logo carved on it. I don't know if it has any techical special features. It has white area on the other side of it (inside). I think there probably is chip inside it.
There was Thank You video on the device and hand written Thank You card with the phone.

What colors for led. Charging, mail, SMS, missed call?
You may have noticed the LED at the bottom of your Jolla. This tells you about power and charging:
white : switching on
red : switching off
pale white : charging
pale white blinking : fully charged
It also uses the same colours as your main apps to tell you if you've missed something:
green blinking : missed call
blue blinking : missed message
yellow blinking : new email

Helium was WebKit-based, and mostly UI code apart from the engine - and UI wasn't all that usable for us, as we had different designs. So no, no ancestral roots there. One of Helium's authors does work on the browser, though.
As for a name, it's just called "Sailfish Browser" in the version string afair. I don't know the answers to your other questions offhand - although AFAIK Adobe don't work on Flash on ARM anymore.

At the current point it's only in portrait, Landscape support will be added later.
Please guys don't forget SailfishOS at this point is still in beta
Interesting, in the dmesg dump you can see the WLAN MAC addr:
[ 10.574332] wlan: [843:E :HDD] hdd_wlan_startup: Invalid MAC address in NV, using MAC from ini file 50:56:a8:01:00:17
And if you search on the IEEE OUI database for 50:56:a8 you'll find that is assigned to Jolla Ltd.
i. e. Jolla is not just flashing their Sailfish software onto a noname (chinese) brand device, they are shaping to be a proper device manufacturer.

At least it doesn't lock inside. This is the same than it was with N9, N900 and N810.

Sailfish's. Or if you mean which engine - it's Gecko-based.
You can of course also install an Android browser if you feel like it... :)
So, are Mozilla sync and Firefox add-ons supported in the UI, or we'll have to manually enable them? Can anyone with the device confirm?

On landscape mode, w00t mentioned on irc that they received the requisite sensors etc pretty late but they will be pushing it out via updates. They are aiming for updates roughly monthly.
What is encouraging is that they are taking steps to future proof their implementations unlike Nokia who had to create workarounds for previous workarounds hence ending up with a lot of cruft.
I noticed it uses Bash 3.2 which is old. The reason Mer provides it, is to appease vendors who are scared of GPLv3. But Jolla isn't scared, so why isn't newer Bash packaged? I think Mer should provide an alternative set of newer packages for those vendors who aren't scared of GPLv3. I.e. those should be two sets of packages provided by some metapackage. For example:
gpl3-vendor
gpl2-vendor

I have to disagree on the last part. I think Jolla is also a good smart phone for average Joe. If Joe has very specific needs like voice navigation then maybe not. Average Joes were also fine with S60 and Lumia/WP. Currently native app selection is young but it will mature.

True that , it was average Joe/Mohamed/Chang that got us all set back in 2007 trading a touch screen for a complete feature list as was to be found in the Nokia's of the time.

It's funny how everybody presses the top right "Accept" or similar button when you can just swipe right->left as if you were going to the next page :-)
For anyone complaining about skype its not been integrated because Microsoft are making the APIs private.
w00t, I think it's a prime time for Jolla to launch an official community infrastructure (with forums and etc.). There was a post about it, (http://mer-project.blogspot.com/2013/11/a-sailfishos-co-creators-community-in.html) but so far nothing came out. So it's past due!
Indeed, it's way, way, way overdue now, I've been arguing for something like this for so long now it's not even funny any more.
Filip & Carsten really crystallised it all beautifully in that "brain dump", time to move to some really cool/effective/efficient interfacing infra. ASAP.

For anyone complaining about skype its not been integrated because Microsoft are making the APIs private.
That is inaccurate. Microsoft are (foolishly) removing the Desktop APIs - but these APIs were only available on Windows PCs and Macs running the Skype application, enabling 3rd parties to communicate with (and extend the functionality of) the Skype app (and to be fair in the face of much opposition they've backed down on this, at least a little)
It has nothing to do with mobile implementations and does not affect them in the slightest.

- Call quality (at least in comparison with your old phone(s), state what phone(s) you had :-) )
- Reception (at least in your area, copmare with previous phone(s), same as above)

No. Nothing technical stops something like that being done (we use the same input method framework as the N9, a few generations further on) - there simply isn't a keyboard implemented like that.

Is it planned that there will be an official swype keyboard? I use it all the time on my N9, and find it very difficult now to go back to a 'normal' vkb. And it was certainly one of the big asks prior to the Jolla being launched, saw it on many "We'd like to see .." lists

Some fast notions from the top of my head:
The phone is fast, responsive and intuitive coming from N9. I´ve gotten it to freeze when I took a photo (I heard this is a known bug, but hard to reproduce =) and a few times the pulley menus have frozen as well.
Map app works well and seems to be quite fast. No option for offline navigation, didn´t work when I turned wlan and internet off. Has turn-by-turn navigation, you can choose car or by foot.
You can´t change the options in the lock screen´s pulley meny (not yeat, at least).
Whatsapp and Spotify work well.
I have received only one call from Whatsappa registration, sound quality seemed ok.
Universal copy-paste seemed to work, at least between native Notes and Quicklist and Android FB.
Plays FLAC (yay!), sound quality is good. Occasional creaks from pulley menus can be heard when I have my ear phones.
The feed doesn´t seem to work, or I just don´t know how yet. When I pull from down, it brings out the notifications etc but doesn´t show the FB/etc feed like in demos. Have to look more into this later.
The limited TOH contains an ambience (orange stripes, called The First One) and ring tones (haven´t looked into those yet).
The browser seems to be fast, although the scrolling could be a bit faster. No landscape mode yet, as is known. The options bar appears at the bottom of the screen when you scroll up a bit and you have to choose the tab bar to type in the url.
And oh, I almost forgot: I got Marc to sign my TOH (on the inside of course, so it won´t wear off). Apparently I was the first one, again, to get one signed by him (he had only signed one n900 previously). =D
Is it planned that there will be an official swype keyboard?
I can't give you a proper answer on that. Swype isn't just a piece of technology - it's a product (http://www.nuance.com/landing-pages/products/swype/), and as such, would require us talking to Nuance (or vice versa) and coming to an agreement about how things should work.

Maybe Jolla could rekindle the Meego team's relationship with Swype ;-)
Us it possible to change what happen with swipe left right with configuration only?
Possible to add more screens to the OS?
Install zsh from mer-tools instead of worrying about it. You'll thank me later. :-)
I think the problem is a bit more elaborate. Mer caters for GPLv3 allergic vendors, but the assumption that all vendors are GPLv3 allergic is worng. Jolla isn't I presume. So, the proper way to do that would be to make two interchangeable subsets of packages within Mer (those won't be all Mer packages, just some which are affected by this issue). I.e. one set for GPLv3 allergic vendors, and other for GPLv3 tolerant. So these sets could be replaceable by installing some corresponding metapackage.
Do you think this can work out? Keeping some packages forever frozen in ancient versions for all users because of the GPLv2 nature sounds a bit weird to me.

What would be useful (post whistle-blowing era), is an app to make encrypted video calls over ZRTP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZRTP).

Yep, I'm aware of that.
and as such, would require us talking to Nuance (or vice versa) and coming to an agreement about how things should work.
Are we saying Jolla have not even started such discussions? Or are you saying Nuance wanted too much in licensing fees?
Do you mean when you swipe from lock/home screen or in general? No options at the moment at least.
I mean in general. Like an example pre-configured so you can swipe from left to right the browser is presented instead of current view. It's so lame to have same action both left and right. inefficient
At the moment, it's text messaging only.
thanks for testing, i am little bit sad :(
my hope is realy that there will intigrate the features...Android/iOS Version of xabber and other apps cant do that, too.
... no swype :( ... bad!
hope there will send fast updates to intigrate all features.
What would be useful (post Snowden era), is an app to make encrypted video calls over ZRTP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZRTP).

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29904

N900 sending contacts to Jolla over bluetooth worked for me with Settings:Connectivity:Transfer&sync tool.
I think developer mode activation took less than a minute after downloading the developer mode package.
... no swype :( ... bad!
I was thinking the same at first but I think the virtual keyboard for native Jolla apps is better on Jolla than N9 so it is not so bad problem.
Is it planned that there will be an official swype keyboard?
From @JollaHQ answers I got the picture that they are not planning it. They didn't say it directly but that is how I understood it between the lines.
I can't get apple time capsule wifi working. It uses wpa2-psk. Not my box so I cant test with diffrent settings. All I get is "valittuun verkkoon yhdistäminen epäonnistui"
Is there centralized bug reporting platform somewhere?
WTF do you mean with a developer account is required?
The reason AFAIU is a bit more mundane than this.
Enabling developer mode requires a few bits and pieces, which require access to be set up: requires a Jolla account (the same as the store account / your order / etc) is set up on device.
So there's no specific "developer account" as such.

Android has a good implementation of a similar concept, which works better for me than the n9 swype.
Also, predictive text is not very effective if you switch language often, use shell commands or use abbreviations.

Can anyone upload archive of this directory on dropbox or googledrive or somewhere else?

We use the Maliit open source project. From some quick searching, https://wiki.maliit.org/Plugin_Development_Quickstart may be useful.
Also, predictive text is not very effective if you switch language often, use shell commands or use abbreviations.
Our terminal application does not have built-in support for the native keyboard, it implements it differently. So you won't have to worry about that part at least. I do understand that it's not ideal though.
Somewhere the information is stored as an FAQ would make it much easier for users. Since it's still in beta, there's still a bit of leeway to change things people don't like
Great idea. I'd be happy to contribute to an FAQ. Do you want to take the initiative and get one started?
As far as I know Swype is available for android in the form of yet another one third-party virtual keyboard. That is, it is just another one Android "application" (.apk).
Has anyone of Jolla users tried to install Android Swype on Jolla?
Should the FAQ go here really? https://sailfishos.org/wiki/QA
Or it's Jolla release specific FAQ?
There is also this page: https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Sailfish
Food for reviews:
- Maps: offline maps? turn by turn navigation? public transport layer? directions using public transport? zoom bar (+/- buttons as opposed to pinch to zoom)
I didn't notice that there would be public transport layer. The very first GPS lock took maybe 1-3 minutes when I was walking. Hopefully it works faster in the future. There seems to be bug: after giving me written routing instructions maps app didn't draw me a map or routing graph any more, it was totally white with only here logo on the screen. It might have been transient problem. No zoom bar, you will have to use gestures (pinch, tap, double tap).
- Mail (does it work? easy to set up? IMAP?)
Seems to work at least in reading. I wrote one test message but I didn't receive it. Mail app was giving message: problem but didn't told me what the problem was. I think that I was using wrong configuration (authentication for outgoing mails) for sending the mails but it would have been nice to have proper error message to why it wasn't working. Mail was very easy to set up. You add account on Settings app. First you select the type (like Mail for Exchange, IMAP, Google, ...). Mail app is simple but functional.
- Browser (a more detailed review)
Very few features and options on the UI. I would like to have little more features like Save page, Save image. Features that are there work. If your data connection is very slow (for example background download), the UI doesn't update to show what the browser is actually doing, so you might actually think that the app is not responding your requests and you might try again and again and wonder why app is not doing what you asked. Otherwise it has worked quite well. Many operations seem very fast after N900 and N9 but in some operations or in some pages it is not still match for desktop browsers in speed wise.
Calender app has also bug: on summary screen it shows wrong starting clock times for some of the meetings but when I click the details for the meetings the clock times are correct.

Has anyone of Jolla users tried to install Android Swype on Jolla?
This will not work. Its not just an app, it deeply integrates with os and in ACL will not work.
Good to know, but if you have the resources, please implement your own...
I have understood that Swype is patented technology in USA and possibly in some other coutries so Jolla cannot implement their own without licenses from the patent holders.
Sim Toolkit STK seems to be missing, or doesnt work with http://www.mobiilivarmenne.fi/en/
This also aplies to my workplace VPN
And I also just noticed that outlook calendar sync seems to strip the location of events. Or I have no idea where it is in the UI.
Great idea. I'd be happy to contribute to an FAQ. Do you want to take the initiative and get one started?
I was thinking either a wiki or in the past we've had a successful use of Google Docs, but the place to store it would really be the defining factor. But I'd happily contribute.
So there are limitations for Android ACL :)
BTW, speaking of ACL. Does it support Android actions besides ACTION_MAIN (which is called when you simply try to open app)? For example, can Android gallery app, that has ACTION_VIEW defined for pictures, be used as default picture viewer in Jolla?
From @JollaHQ answers I got the picture that they are not planning it. They didn't say it directly but that is how I understood it between the lines.
Well, on Android it is available as a paid-for application, so presumably Nuance could do something similar for the Jolla (and I wonder if the Android one would run on Jolla ...). Given they already have the N9 version and w00t has confirmed that the framework is little different it might only be a small effort, and thus worth them doing.
It'd still be nice to know if Jolla have approached Nuance to suggest they do it.

It says that it will restart the device but for me it didn't do that.
I also couldn't install developer mode at first. Installation of developer mode package failed and after that I noticed that all other installation from Jolla store also failed (of course, no proper error messages). I had to reset the phone to the factory condition to get installations working again. Had to configure the whole phone again from scratch. After that I was able to activate developer mode without problems.

Just a thought. I changed covers from my poppy red to the white and it would not let me enter the jolla store. The was an error that TOH was missing, which I nearly missed too.
So that could be an issue for some.

I know, and I would have if I could get ssh to the phone (to test with lockscreen on). But apparently win7 does not like the phone at all :/

Ditch win7. :p
Not a complaint, but an observation... original iPhone came without MMS support. Same as the N900. I wonder if MMS is just overlooked - as well as a few other things. Anybody see other overlooked things that are also part of initial mobile OS releases?

Next to lacking XMPP, SIP seems to be a missing core function.
I trust Jolla is working on it to gain my continuous support and to lift Sailfish as the best mobile telecom OS
Meanwhile does anybody care to test if SIP for "there-must-be-an-app -for-that-Android" works?
The csipsimple program is pretty clean and no Playstore needed.

From everything I've read so far, MMS is the only thing that concerns me. I wasn't aware that N9 came without MMS initially. I did know about the iPhone.

Just another observation: at least where I live MMS is very expensive in comparison to sending an email, so to be honest I never ever used it. Perhaps only a few folks actually utilise that service? In contrast, SMS is pretty much the same in terms of email being a lot better, but because it's often unlimited or you get a fair amount of them in your plan, it is widely used _except_ in Japan for example where they always used email :-)

Anything in particular standing out?
I'd love to have MMS support in Jolla.
Please, please, pretty please?
I wonder if MMS is just overlooked - as well as a few other things.
This is just a general comment, but it does involve MMS. This is also a personal statement, not something necessarily company-endorsed.
Shipping a working mobile OS is already a lot of work. The more features you add, the more work is involved - but the amount of people you have to split that work in our case is quite constant (and the lesson enshrined by the "mythical man month" is that adding a bunch more people won't necessarily solve that problem any more quickly - it may make the situation worse, even).
So you have three essential parameters you can tweak: features (+/-), quality (+/-), schedule (+/-). Pick any two.
We chose to ship something that we hope is of an acceptable quality on our target schedule, and look at adding more features through software updates. Hopefully when we look back at this in 6 months, that'll seem like a good choice. :)

I may be wrong, but the N9 had MMS support from the start.
The N900 however came without, but then there was this excellent Application named fMMS from frals which closed this gap.
Anyway, I also miss MMS support and would love to see that added soon.
Is it safe to change the root password?

Missing MMS can rise so much more passion compared to SIP and XMPP.
Seems priority goes to entertainment rather than hardcore communication features here.
I have always regarded MMS as an expensive gimmick that briefly accompanied the first camera phones of which the pictures quality was hardly usable for "look I am really here" type of picture messages.
regarding the missing DLNA support:
Does this have to be supported by the OS?
What are the chances that Apps like Helium will work?
What about android apps like "BubbleUPnP"?

That is exactly the use case for MMS, to send picture postcards to your grandma who does not have email.
I think, the last MMS i sent was back in 2008 with E71... i don't know anyone who still uses this.
the only thing i cannot live without is offline maps and live drive navigation. so this is something i really want to see fixed before anything else in jolla phone.

Out of 10 MMS i've sent, maybe 3 actually reached their destination, 1 immediately, and 2 arrived days later. And all of them were expensive.

Totally understood... for the record, let's just call this off-the-record and between two guys...
Shipping a working mobile OS is already a lot of work.
I do not doubt this in the least. In fact, I applaud Jolla for pulling it off, shutting a lot of naysayers up. From hereon, it's all about adding features, connecting with the community and growing that market.
Great things lie ahead of Jolla. I'm pretty damn sure of it.

Been there, done that... left it to much smarter people than I (read: you guys at Jolla and the like).
So you have three essential parameters you can tweak: features (+/-), quality (+/-), schedule (+/-). Pick any two.
I know the mantra of "pick two" rather well. You guys chose well. Put it to you this way; I am patiently waiting in the US for my ability to buy one to support Jolla. I've put aside my planned purchase(s), pulled out my N9 (just in case) and will invariably purchase a Jolla phone.
All because of what you guys have accomplished, will accomplish and how you chose to go about doing so. I'm impressed - not that that means anything to anybody in particular besides myself.

See above. You guys chose well. Now... I'll shuddap and go back practicing patience. Kudos Jolla team. Thanks to this entire thread for sharing your experiences. It makes it all that much better in my opinion for all of us here salivating and listening to the pros and cons of Jolla.
Correction: It was the N900 that didn't initially have MMS. The N9 had issues with MMS on T-Mobile. Sorry about the confusion I might have caused.

That's all I'm asking. I read somewhere, that Jolla plans to release updates monthly, but nothing official. Even releases every 6 months would be far more the average Android phone ever gets.
And before I forget, that was a good and reasonable post. Thank you!

I understand that is the beautiful potential of it.
In reality I see grandma puzzle her brain over what to do with: "you have received a picture message from... go to following link to receive on her 20 lines of text monochrome old (Nokia) phone.
To do:
XMPP full featured implementation, not only chat -> Jolla
SIP: full featured implementation -> Jolla
in parallel: port fMMS (MMS hopefully from Maemo) -> dev fMMS
eventually integrate MMS -> Jolla

Well, sorry about that. I have a flatrate with my subscription at Swisscom (Switzerland).

We aim for monthly. Whether or not we can pull it off, let's see. I'm cautiously optimistic. :)

And that is what I use it for on a regular basis. Like SMS but with multiedia attachment. Although it is all kinds of people I send MMS to.

Hopefully, the users (like me) will not get tired of updating their phones every month. :) Oh well, I should first get my Jolla now.
MMS was important to me around the time when original iPhone and N900 were around. I was really annoyed about the lack of of MMS in the N900
Since then the old farts/fossils in my life have learned to use far better alternatives, so I don't care, but I understand that some people still need the feature.

I for one am happy that you guys chose to do everything on schedule. While I will be missing some features at first, I know you'll be improving on the OS all the time so no worries.
I'd have hated for that thing to happen to you (I was sort of expecting it really) that is super common to a lot of startups with ambitious new product (think RaspberryPi, Ouya, etc....), when rollout and delivery is delayed and delayed again for nobody cares what reasons. I'm pretty sure your proving that you can deliver as planned will be a strong selling point in the future, and I congratulate you on that. In the meantime, I count on Sailfish becoming full-featured soon enough!

w00t: I know that what I'll ask is probably not in your court and it's also probably quite difficult to achieve, but here it goes: is there any chance that Jolla can publish a short term roadmap of features that Sailfish OS will definitely have?
I'm not looking for release dates or anything, but something like "we are definitely working in CalDAV and that will come eventually". This will probably help ease some of the expectation of folks out there considering whether to get the phone or not.
Some of these features have been mentioned in this thread, but a roadmap peek that comes officially from Jolla would be a lot better!

Why does everyone want to wait around for Frals to port fMMS. This is an open source package, is it not? Get the code from garage and have at it!
That's what I am usually told whenever I ask about application x missing y or not doing z, even though I am not a developer (I keep wondering if it's best to put that information in one's signature in communities such as this one).
@JanneEdelman:
THATS just what I wanted to see, many many many thanks for those great pictures. :)
What I was interested in was the backside pictures, and YES, there it is: Three places with "golden" contact terminals for the jolla other half to connect its i2c and NFC. Its all we need, and no doubt there will be third party hardware with qwert and other stuff in case jolla or partners doesn't come up with great hardware for this.
This is one of the main great things with the Jolla device!!!

In what way Jolla would like to receive bug reports?
