There is a release of gPodder for Sailfish:

http://wiki.gpodder.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS

and I have managed to install and run it.

But I would like to move at least the podcast subscriptions from my N9 gPodder to the Jolla one. Using the online service seems to be currently not possible, as the Sailfish gPodder does not support it.

I have had a look at the gPodder folders on both devices, but infortunatelly they look quite different. The database files for example are different, one is SQLLite, the other JSONb, whatever that is.

Has anyone succeeded to use gPodder on the Jolla phone and even migrate his/her subscriptions? Any help will be very welcome. If I managed this, my N9 will be retired as daily driver. Not bad Jolla!

I'm quite disappointed. gPodder on my Jolla looks totally different comparing with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysXB_ZfilDI. It looks like pre-pre-alfa version. Did you installed it from mer repo or compiled from github source?

AFAIK it is alpha for several reasons:

python3 is one and pyside not ported to qt5 and probadly will not. gpodder harmnattan uses pyside+qt4+python2. so there is some stuff that need to be solved to make it for sailfishos...

if harbour will support python its probadly python3 and possible pyotherside.

maintainer, thp, is working on jolla atm so I guess he has lack of time working on gpodder atm.

To be honest I wish they ported gpodder 3 so we could have play ques, and syncing to gpodder.net
and maybe work on gpodder 4 as an addition project on the side and it would be no problem if it took years to get features of gpodder 3
