Hi Domriley

U know, usually in forums like this users are expected to use the search function before creating threads about matters that has already been discussed. You could have at least checked the latest page of "Jolla User Experience Thread" where this matter has been discussed several times over.

I tried looking for a viable calendar option, and found a Android app called Calengoo from Amazon app store. I installed it and after five minutes of tinkering it seems to work pretty well.. It synced my calendars OK and has many different views as well. All in all it seems pretty promising. I've only used it for a little while, so there's still a chance something goes terribly wrong, so you've been warned ;)

It does cost about $8, but you seem to get a $5 coupon the first time you download an app from Amazon store, so just download a free app first, and then buy the Calengoo.

There is a beta version of SyncEvolution ported to Sailfish. This is by TMO's ovekaven! (Thanks!)

Some people have reported working well. It's not on the store because, in the words of the author:

SyncEvolution will not be available on Harbour for the foreseeable future, as it violates numerous Harbour rules, including the installation of libraries, daemons, D-Bus services, and access to privileged PIM data.

Yikes. Still... I'm going to cross my fingers and give it as go.

No joy first time around. I'm at work, so I don't have time to dig into terminal errors right now.

If anyone wants this for themselves, I found this useful-looking blog post, which I will try to work on when I have time later today: http://linux.bigga.de/details/sync-calendar-and-contacts-on-jolla-with-owncloud-using-syncevolution/

2 way sync is part of the upgrade just released... ;-)

" - Two-way sync for google calendar"

https://together.jolla.com/question/33507/release-notes-software-version-10420-ohijarvi/

And it works... ;-)

Just add Your Google account and enable sync... ;-)

You can find it in Settings -> Accounts (or add it it You haven't already)... :-)

Thanks, but this isn't working for me - partly due to my experimentation, no doubt, but there is a definite lack of configurability even after the update.

Somehow I've managed to delete my Google calendar from the Jolla (still exists on the server, all good), and neither disabling/renabling sync, nor even removing the account altogether and re-adding it to the device can cause it to re-appear.

The 'Manage calendars' dialogue is someone's idea of a joke, surely? All it allows you to do is enable/disable calendars (I think?) and - haha - choose what colour your calendar should be.

I don't want to do a device reset for something as ridiculous as this, but that's my only idea for now. I will see if any more brainwaves strike.

So the calendar is based on mkcal (https://github.com/mer-packages/mkcal) and the sqlite db lives at: /home/nemo.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/db

There is also a second file there called db.changed which always seems to be zero bytes. I don't know what that is for, but presumably the answer is somewhere in the mkcal code. Possibly it's something used when updating the calendar. I don't know.

Still don't know why I can't recreate my deleted calendar, but I suspect if I blow away this db maybe it will be possible. Hmm. Perhaps I will try later.

OK, enough talking to myself in this thread.

...but I fixed the issue I was having!

To resolve the issue where the removed calendar would not re-create, I deleted my Google account from the Jolla, then used terminal to remove db and db.changed file from the directory shown above (well, moved the files to a temporary folder to be on the safe side), then re-created the Google account... and my calendar is there! Super.

Hope maybe this helps someone at some point.
