The year is almost over...

2013 was an excellent year with lots of cool stuff 2014 will be COOL as well. Whats the best device according to you?

Please add it and a short description why you like it...

Me?

1. Sony Z Ultra - It's big and screen is great. Browser is fast. What more can I ask for. The bad part. It's a ****ing finger print magnet...

2. Galaxy note lll - 3 GB is cool, spen is great. but the best part. You get a smartclock included in the price. Talk to the hand :D
The bad part. It's first gen clock and note still slow sometimes like all phones. Need more RAM...

3. Jolla jPhone - New cool OS with different way of navigating.
Bad part. Hardware isn't top notch and its first gen product.

But Where is the keyboard slider...?

Happy new year. Please share you best devices 2013...if you bought or tested devices during the year.

The new Fiskar's Bubble nail clippers. Truly a supremly maginificent device. Just like the old-skool yellow Fiskar scissors, these are by far the best products in their category. No other clippers come even close in ease of use and efficiency. In addition the new design is stylish.

Clipping your nails was never as easy, and rarely as stylish. Here's the beauty in picture form.

You can of course go with n900 if you like. It's all about opinions. Love it too, just can't handle the small screen and slow browser.

seems like a solid device. But I wouldn't trade you my favorite device(outside phones and cars):

Can't answer calls with it yet, but soon...

1 - Nexus 5
One of the best phones, with the least flaws

1 - iPad Mini Retina
Best tablet, all round great not too many drawbacks

2 - Moto G
Very decent offering, unbeatable pricing

3 - ASUS T1000 (Win8, Quad-Atom)
Great performance and form factor, even better price

4 - Samsung NOTE 3
Hands down bleeding edge.

5 - Lumia 1050
Not a great phone, not great price, but really great camera

6 - Xbox One
Decent upgrade, interesting features, great launch titles

7 - Steam
Not ready. Will see how a SteamBox, running SteamOS, playing Steam Games, on the SteamPad while viewed on the Occulus Rift will be.

Wait if its just about "devices" then I think the majority (50%) of the world's population would agree the best device is this one:

One and only: The Jolla - probably best overall phone out there: excellent OS (the only OS you would expect on a phone of course, multitasking, open and all that), apparently better RF capabilities than the N9 (and the N9 was the best I've seen), apparently better battery life than the N9 (...and the N9 was the best I've seen).

I'm a simple guy: the N9 has been the best overall phone in the world to me, the Jolla is a great successor, even sacrificing a few things such as camera. Beats my first impressions of the latest Nexus device, at a fraction of the hardware.

What is jPhone? Sounds like GooPhone or some KIRF of iCr@p...

For me is Jolla, Nokia 909, and Xperia Z1

I wish there will be a landscape qwerty slider in 2014, I really want one.

Dont really like or trust product name jolla so I call My phone jolla jPhone until jolla comes up With a real name, probobly when they launch the next device.

A landscape qwerty slider would be golden unfortunately i doubt it 2013 - zero keyboard sliders?

None in 2013, even not many in 2012 (Droid 4?), the only decent hardware with a keyboard this year is Q10. Moto Droid 5 looks sweet and was rumoured, but I don't think it will ever come out.

If no slider again in 2014, at least Jolla's keyboard OH will be a solution. Even if Nokia or MS releases a qwerty like Lauta in windows jerk OS I will give it a try.

Bought Lumia 520 for my brother and mother. Really solid device for the price.
Favorite device I have bought this year has been my mid 2013 Macbook air. Perfect media and writing laptop for school and on the go. Can't beat that build quality and battery life.
DT990 Pro, Xonar Essence STX is possibly the best audio gear combo I have ever bought.

Been pretty damn good year for gadgets this year for me. I have bought devices that I have been extremely happy to and for once I can say that I wont likely be looking to replace any of them next year. First time since first iPad that I don't have a tablet.

I was battling between Vaio Pro 13, Macbook Air and VAIO Duo 13 (haswell).
I was really close at getting Vaio Pro 13 for a very good student deal, but the build, trackpad and horrendous WiFi problems made me to go to Macbook Air. While I'm more of a PC and linux guy on desktop, macbooks trackpad and UI are near perfect for laptop use without touch screen.

VAIO Duo 13 seemed really interesting. Price was just a bit too much for me. Also solid clamshell design was better for me when typing is my main use.

I was interested in Duo13 as well, as a Duo11 owner, the duo13 is a very good upgrade.

Changed mind until I saw Vaio Flip 13/14/15, the advantages to my point over Duo13:

- (much) better keyboard and mouse board
- adjustable screen angle
- Much much cheaper, and you have choice of largerscreen

-Cons: slightly heavier, a bit thinker compared with duo13's edge.

If I want upgrade I will go for the flip series. FYI if you are interested in duo13. :)

Done some more research now. I might go down the same road. But at moment I'm more into heavier comps with more RAM and dedicated graphic...

Keyboard with color LED's under the buttons. You can change the colors and split the color placements into three if I remember correct.

yup, thats correct! :)

it's a heavy badboy :p
3,8kg

funny fact: it uses the same 'body' as the msi notebooks, but those are like €3000 instead of €1700

Is it a Erazer sticker on the hood? can you remove it?
no, it's a part of the lid, so not a sticker, neither painted on. It gives light when the screen is on.
it's not that bad if you ask me...
the medion logo below the screen on the front could be removed (it's painted on)

1.Liquid lenses! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZGcKbf-8Yc)
2.Note 3 because it is a beast and I would like to have one for drawing. :)
3.Lumia 1520 because it is Note 3's competitor, camera is even better than Xperia Z1.
4.Canon 1D C because it is a DSLR that can shoot 4K video. :D

So i decided to go for my first Mac(never though that would happen:eek: ).

15-inch: 2.3GHz
with Retina display
Specifications
2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage 1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
with 2GB GDDR5 memory
Built-in battery (8 hours)

The only thing that can stop me is the keyboard. Two questions: I'm getting it from Hong Kong. Do they have English keyboards over there?

Do apple have one year limited guarantee only in Hong Kong if its bought there or is it worldwide?

I didn't buy too m΅ch tech last year:

Nexus 7 3g (2012)
Marantz M-CR610
Jolla

Out of the box, for me it's the Marantz. DAB, Internet radio and Spotify integration has given me hours of joy.

That's not to put the Jolla down. I find it quite impressive, and it improves with every update/addition to the Jolla store. The tohd fix has brought the device forward in leaps and bounds, and gives you a real sense of security, knowing you can use it without fear of the battery dying.

The Nexus is a nice device, but the other 2 are in front for me. I just haven't engaged with it as much.

Crikey, I just remembered I bought a few other things, but my choices stand.

This guy knows what he's talking about. The Find5 was a shockingly good device for 2013 (unlimited data on AT&T with modern hardware and no BL lock, yes plz). N1 seemed a bit of a wonky design, cool ideas but I don't expect it to take off (it's too big).

Sucks they both run android but out the door but they do have a lot of rom options.

I'd love a Jolla but they gave the US the shaft on band support and I can mostly run sailfish on the N9 for now. Actually yeah it's almost totally out of contention for now due to their insistence on secrecy and the fact it's still a beta platform. Locking the BL and giving a dumb reason over Christmas helped me to nope my way out of that situation for now.

Still wanna give BB10 a whirl even though RIM's going down the crapper.

EDIT: someone should start a worst device thread :D

**** Mac :D Bought IdeaPad Y510P 16GB for half the price :D. I would like to have bigger SSD disk so I can put the OS on it...but I figure I'll manage without SSD until next upgrade. Anyone have one of those? This SLI solution seems pretty ****ed up. Will be interesting
