We are pleased to present our first stable release of IRC for Sailfish. Many of you might have seen / tried the beta version, and now we invite you to download the stable!

Your IRC experience on a phone has never been better! :)
IRC for Sailfish is the first and foremost IRC client for Sailfish OS. The authors of the two Harmattan apps Communi and IRC Chatter have joined forces and decided to create the ultimate IRC experience for your Jolla phone. We are using libcommuni, a battle-tested framework and we're building on our past experiences. We focus on awesome features and ease of use.

FAQ

Where can I get help with it?
On the Freenode IRC network, join the `#communi` channel.
Where do I report bugs?
Go to our GitHub issues page: https://github.com/communi/communi-sailfish/issues
Where is the code?
On our GitHub page: https://github.com/communi/communi-sailfish
What is the license?
LGPLv2 (for the C++ parts) and BSD (for the QML / JS parts) and CC BY 4.0 (for the artwork)
Do you support quassel or weechat?
Unfortunately neither of them has an official API that could be used by 3rd parties. If they had such an API, we would seriously consider supporting them.
Do you support landscape orientation?
We plan to. See https://github.com/communi/communi-sailfish/issues/35
When is it released to the Jolla store?
Already submitted, waiting for Jolla accepting us.
I'd like to customize the app. Where are the settings?
We're going to add a settings page to the Jolla settings in the "Apps" section, but unfortunately it's not yet officially supported.

Any way to get smaller font? I count approximayely 30x11 chars on screen, which is around what I had on IRC in 2002-ish on a java featurephone with considerably less screen resolution :)

Yes, we plan to have such a setting.

What about OpenRepos?

The app is now available in Jolla Store. I personally do not see a point in openrepos.

Can you please open a ticket here? :)

There is lot of point in OpenRepos. It allows you to make you not so ready application available for public and quickly update it based on feedback until you are ready for harbour and Jolla Store. It allows you to make such applications available which will not pass harbour criterias and currently there are many of such applications. May be later when Jolla can allow more APIs for harbour applications that may change. Still there will be always useful apps which can't pass harbour acceptance criterias. Of course all those could be published on different web sites and forum post from where barely anyone would find them. There openrepos is better choise as it at least in theory allows community to control what there is available.

@Penguin openrepos has no QA and might be considered dangerous for normal users!

Nice work so far, but there are some inconsistencies.

The welcome screen shows a button with welcome text which is no button.

Edit server page shows edit on the right button instead of save

Thanks for the feedback, but could you please report your findings to https://github.com/communi/communi-sailfish/issues and it will be taken care of. Thanks! ;)

For me (OnePlus3) Jolla Store doesn't find anything after querying either "IRC" or "Communi". Can you please upload it to OpenRepos?

That's strange, can you install anything from the store. I remember when there was no access to the store for the ported devices, I compiled communi myself. Was rather simple, as far as I remember.

I downloaded the official apps, e.g. documents but all the categories are empty.

This means that either something is wrong with 1+3 store support or with your login into the store. But anyway, it would be good to get this IRC client at openrepos.

... same for me with SFOS on op3.
