...because now you can pay > 200 euros to this website that does not even give you a phone. Brilliant! :D

Not that I want a Jolla C but I had a try just for a good laff. You can "preorder" with an expected delivery in the second half of September. They will let you know when the goods will be available. The only potential problem - you need a Russian phone number to proceed.

how is it possible?

Russia have a very tight binding to Jolla.
Jolla C was not shipped to Russia, so i think, the want give the russian Developers an Reference Device for the Sailfish Development.

exactly, you wont have 4G in europe with intex.

Well, i can confirm, Jolla C has also problems with LTE/4G in o2 and E-Plus Networks in Germany. T-Mobile and Vodafone have less Problems - but also far away from Jolla 1 LTE-Function.

I hope i get my Intex in the next weeks, so i can report how Intex works in all 4 german Networks (At least in Berlin)

Who needs jolla c when you can get aqua fish half the price?

Maybe those Europeans who want a phone with CE mark (see discussion in TJC - some Aquafish was "eaten" by German customs due to lack of CE mark) I suppose the Russian Jolla C will have the CE mark similar to the existing one.

Seems that we can simply install the european LTE Modem Firmware instead of indian one on Intex Aqua Fish - and we would get an Jolla C:

Well, 'simply' is putting it a bit lightly, because if something goes wrong you could end up with a brick.

sorry but if the differences between jolla c and intex aquafish are just software does it mean that CE mark can be used also for the second?
on tjc zendesk 's reply reported seems to refer to hw differences

i will try it as soon as my intex arrives. i'm 99% sure the only differenxe is that software package and it would not brick the device.
jolla is an intex phone, only a couple of packages are different

which case? buyon is selling platform, Jolla itself giving 1 year manufacturer warranty for devices.

Not on Jolla C sold through, err I mean given away as part of the "developer and community program" (although the legality of that is questionable, but that is a different topic).

itdoesntmatt's question is whether those units sold through buyon.ru are different.
It is a valid question, IMO.

not for jolla c, considering is developer device..at least if you have bought it together with the developer program.
in this case, they are selling just the device,it does mean that the device in itself is the value and thus..it has to have warranty.

coderus, why do you think that installing modem.software as explit says you wont be able to catch the network at all?
sorry but i am curious and i dont know anything about that

Situation of the Aquafish LTE in the Netherlands:

- No LTE on 800 Mzh (Jolla C will support this after the fix, 2.0.2.50).
- LTE works great on 1800 Mhz with the Aquafish.

In the Netherlands Vodafone and KPN use 800/1800 Mhz for LTE. But the 1800 Mhz only in bigger places. So with those providers LTE is only avaliable in bigger places. For the rest you have 2/3G.

T-Mobile in the Netherlands uses 900/1800 Mhz in the whole country. So if you have a provider that use 1800 Mhz for LTE then the Aquafish works fine.

About the droid-modem-l500d-eu and droid-modem-l500d-in packages. Not sure if it works to unlock the 800 Mhz on the Aquafish. Someone has to try it, so we are sure. Or someone at Jolla can tell us how ;-)

i asked to jolla zendesk. actually jollac and intex aquafish have differences in hardware.

well actually that could be possible if only the modem is the difference, when the factory assembled phones they just used different pieces.but maybe i am making it too easy

ps: in italy Lucky my operator have 1800 mhz amongst its 3 bands.
one band compatible is just enough, isnt it?

these indians are better than europeans/americans.. they reported sar value in all cases, wich is very appreciable. since the modem is different, what is the sar of the C? i am using it but my device's box is at home :)

Ok, so using the other package does not work :-(. Time for me to get an other provider if I want to use 4g. But till now 2/3G works well, and for the rest using WiFi.

Well, if its true i see absolutely no Problem to use Aquafish in europe.
I can speak only for Germany, where i live.

All 4 Network Operators in Germany are using Band 3 (1800 MHz)

Here is the whole list:

Depends on where they support 1800. Vodafone in the Netherlands using combination of 800/1800. But only 1800 in bigger cities.
Look for a map of germany like this: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1YxXeIRD-KXmH4psMPUGLFvAhlJ8

Be careful. Mobile operators do not necessarily use all "their" bands frequencies on all cell sites.

Take my provider (A1 in Austria): They use the 2600 MHz in densely populated areas and the 800 MHz in rural areas (lower frequency --> signal "travels" further). In some regions (big cities, mainly) they use both, mainly for the purpose of LTE carrier aggregation.
