Thanks for reminding us about this dead-end walled garden.
I had forgotten why I abandoned all hope in the TIZEN market,
and your post prompted me to go back and examine the situation.

Option to install application from unknown sources
« On:October 31, 2015, 03:45:40 PM »
Hi,
It would be good to have an option to install application from unknown sources similar to Android.
Otherwise, the device feels like "locked" to Samsung ecosystem.
The thread curently ends with link to a video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJaD1lpy5CY
showing how to install Android apps on the Tizen system.
The problem is that Samsung will not tolerate anything
beyond games and entertainment.
Proof ?
There exists no terminal application:

I would love to have a terminal app , can you suggest other apps to be created or ported to Tizen ?
Please add them to :

limiting what apps users have first is what doomed Ubuntu Touch.
Tizen looks like it will get coddled to death.

I totally blame Samsung and their true lack of understanding of what folks truly would want.

I totally blame Samsung and their true lack of understanding of what folks truly would want.
They seem to truly understand that there is business in not creating exactly what folks want.
Once the usual tricks (faster processor, display, design, improved camera, re-introduce standard features like SD / removable battery, device that doesn't shatter into pieces when dropped, crazy yearly release cycle..) are worn out, at some point they will have to produce what people would want in order to survive?
How many more years will the consumer reward them for playing their tired game?

Actually there are 2 projects , one is ekzekuto in store, the other is terminology (sources avaiable), have both running on Z2 , I can record a short video, and review your patches :)
I can also mentor developers for new or publishing / maintaining exiting projects ( /me winks at you) .
Any EFL or JS or phonegap developer in here? keep in touch at :
