Re: [Fundraising] CepiPerez

For developing I would choose the Jolla, because 99% of users will be using that and it is the device I want to test with.

Re: [QUESTION]Telegram for Meego/Harmattan?

I'm trying to build Telepathy-Morse https://github.com/TelepathyQt/telepathy-morse/ for Harmattan. I'm doing it mostly for testing purposes, but it might also be usable for some people. I just...

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla [UPDATED 7-11-2015]

More reasonable would be integrating Whatsup to the messages app :)

Telepathy does support media, Jolla-messages app doesn't.

Re: Unison 2.48.3 compiled for Sailfish

I quickly tried to build 2.40, but it segfaulted instantly when running it. Which version did you build actually? And which ocaml?

I often use Fedora's spec files as a starting point for building...

Re: Unison 2.48.3 compiled for Sailfish

That doesn't help on building in OBS. I can't install the files there like that.

But I figured out the problem, I just had to tell it to install files to /usr/ instead of /usr/local which is the...

Re: Unison 2.48.3 compiled for Sailfish

I tried to build it in Mer OBS, but I think I messed building Ocaml somehow. I get this error when running ocamlc:

# ocamlc
bash: /usr/bin/ocamlc: /usr/local/bin/ocamlrun: bad interpreter: No...

Re: Alternative history: What if Jolla never existed?

I think you have too technically oriented friends.

There is a lot of people out there who don't even have adblockers on their browsers. Do you think those people hack their phones to get rid of...

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS

If here is some brave soul interested in Telepathy-Morse aka Telegram connection manager for Telepathy, I've now built everything needed for using it with Sailfish. RPMs are available in obs ...

Re: Unison 2.48.3 compiled for Sailfish

Deleted or renamed files combined to two way syncing (where changes can happen in any end) are difficult with rsync. Unison solves that problem.

It is available in repos of many distros, so most...

Re: Discussion over the Design, Features, and Rollout of Jolla's new Tablet, Assuming that it isn't a Figment of our Collective Imagination

You could do the same with Jolla Tablet if you'd buy it from the same shop. You can't really bargain in online shops, can you?

Re: The Puzzlephone is a modular cellphone designed in Nokia's hometown

Or just buy Fairphone 2, where afaik you can change parts quite easily and spare parts are promised for some years. Too me it seems more modular than puzzle phone.

Re: Fairphone

I hope FP2 doesn't get "proper" Sailfish port and official support. Because if it does I might be tempted to buy one and I think I've spent my tech budjet already.

Re: First thoughts about the (pre) Sailfish OS 2.0

So did you enable the services? It does partially work without enabling it but for proper operation they need to be enabled

Are you using wifi, there has been some issues with Whatsapp on wifi.

Re: Curses library on Jolla phone

I recall having similar problem with Fingerterm on N9 when using Mosh. It's been some time though so I'm not really sure.

Re: First thoughts about the (pre) Sailfish OS 2.0

Re: First thoughts about the (pre) Sailfish OS 2.0

The cover becomes blurred when the app is killed. The blurring is not so well distinguishable though, Jolla has to do something to make it more obvious that the app died.

I don't have problems...

Re: First thoughts about the (pre) Sailfish OS 2.0

Re: First thoughts about the (pre) Sailfish OS 2.0

Yes, all covers are now visible and you scroll them vertically. Just for the sake of testing I opened 24 apps, and all are visible.

They have done something to the oom killer also, because all of...

Re: What apps do you want to see on Sailfish? Part II

Adding my cents:
"Anyone with some developing skills" can also use the skills on contributing to open source parts of Sailfish. E.g. instant messaging stuff is all open source except the QML. If the...
