Re: how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

Yes, but there are people who have done OTA updates but who are not able to get bluetooth keyboards to connect. One might think that it requires having previously connected prior to upgrade. But...

Can people run the following command:

$ tar cf /tmp/bluetooth.tar /var/lib/bluetooth

(ignore the errors that it gives) and send me the /tmp/bluetooth.tar

Several people (myself and olighak) have successfully gotten bluetooth keyboards to work with week 44. And no one has reported failure to do so. Two people (dnastase and filologen) have reported...

Re: how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

If you flash, it will overwrite any changes you made to /etc/bluetooth/main.conf so you will need to redo that change. If you do OTA then it uses apt-get which will preserve those changes. olighak...

Re: how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

I figured out why other people were not able to replicate my ability to get bluetooth keyboards to work. It was due to residue from some of my early attempts. This post outlines what I believe should...

Re: how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

Enclosed. The versions from Diablo (which I don't have) and Debian Lenny/Squeeze/Sid might also work and might even work better. Just be careful NOT to overwrite the native /usr/share/X11/xkb/...

how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

In case anybody is interested, I figured out how to get bluetooth keyboards to work with the N900. I.e. how to get the pc105 xkb layout. First, copy the /usr/share/X11/xkb/ directory from chinook to...

bluetooth keyboards and N900

As is now well known, the N900 removed many layouts, including pc105, from the xkb system. See

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6685

This prevents using bluetooth keyboards. Has anybody...

Re: X keyboard input focus on N900

No. You first obtain the window id (a 32bit number represented in hex).
One way to do this is with xwininfo.

% xwininfo -name <window name>|fgrep id:

Then you call it with the id as the sole...

Re: X keyboard input focus on N900

I might be wrong but I don't believe that WM_HINTS is the issue.
emacs already has input_hints->input == True and input_hints->flags&InputHint but still does not get focus.

Here is an app...

Re: X keyboard input focus on N900

My feeling is that while this may have been technically allowed by the spec (I
don't know, I haven't read the spec) it definitely is the case that many very
long-standing programs are broken by...

Re: X keyboard input focus on N900
