Re: apg-get won't update libart

Depends on whether libgoffice depends on a specific version of libart or not... probably not and everything should then work fine

Yes it is, IIRC it's called pinning. Can't remember the details,...

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?

Because they are not similar. Price is just as important feature as any technical detail... it's just like futures said, price differentiation is essential when you're maximizing profits.

Re: Add Adblock Plus to Firefox?

The browser is not Firefox, it just has the same rendering engine. So Firefox extensions will not work.

Here's adblock for maemo browser: http://browser-extras.garage.maemo.org/news/5/

Re: What woud you realistically like to see in the N900?

This is absolutely not probable (hint: Nokia is a company).

Re: Nokia N810 Email advice

As you found out, the builtin email app is useless. You might want to test Modest if you're still trying things out: It's still in beta but quite usable.

Re: GPS crazyness

I've had similar experiences... Then sometimes it works fine, even when the ephemeris data should be old (so it should be a cold start).

Don't want to add anything to your problems, but I kind of...

Re: Theory about why GPS performs poorly

Re: Your help needed in improving N810 GPS performance

Generic use mobile devices are always compromises, that thing is not: it's huge! The chip footprint is 8 times the footprint of the current TI chip, and that's what matters here (as long as a minimal...

Re: Theory about why GPS performs poorly

Yabbas, your external GPS does not get initialization data from a system library (it probably saves that in the device without any help). N810 gpsdriver seems to do that, see...

Re: Theory about why GPS performs poorly

As dyerga pointed out in the bugzilla, the last part is not actually true: chinook has an older source version, but there is a OS2008 repository that does have 1.0-25 source:...

Re: Theory about why GPS performs poorly

Lovely. It's a leap year bug in upstream gpsd (fixed in newest release). Fortunately dates will start matching reality again on the 29th of February. :)

EDIT:

I've tried a minor patch and it...

It's software under development. Why don't you file a request-for-enhancement bug? Remember to mention that current E-mail software has this feature.

Re: Simcity GPLed (Micropolis)

Depending on how hard-coded the screen size is, this could be quite easy:

Re: List of Maemo Repositories / Repository

There is a difference here -- adding a repository to the list means trusting the source not only this one time, but trusting it all the time in the future too... Basically the repository model can be...
