Re: Is this normal WIFI switch behavior for the N9?

So the interesting part about this that I forgot to mention was that wifi scanning WAS working in power saver mode.

/etc/osso-af-init/gconf-dir/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/%gconf.xml

Re: Is this normal WIFI switch behavior for the N9?

@Schturman

Thanks for posting. I was able to resolve it.

The files on my n9 are actually much different than yours though. This directory does not exist..

Re: Is this normal WIFI switch behavior for the N9?

That program seems to change this key also.

/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_interval

Have tried unset, which I think just uses the default value of 300. Also set it to 300....

Re: Is this normal WIFI switch behavior for the N9?

gconftool-2 --get /schemas/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_i
nterval

If I check that key value, it is set to the default of 300 If you are already on 3G, does WLAN scanning get...

Is this normal WIFI switch behavior for the N9?

Hi,

Just picked up an n9 a couple of weeks ago. Very nice phone.

What I have noticed with WIFI is that if I am on 3G and go somewhere there is a known WIFI, it does not switch to it by...

Re: GameGripper for N900

I got my game gripper today.

I don't know, it totally keeps slipping off. The edges don't go around the n900 enough so it's barely on there, then after a few minutes of playing it starts to slip...

Re: Rerouting in Maps

In the older ovi maps (before pr 1.2), I was able to re route by doing something like repicking the start location as my gps position. Forgot the exact way since it's been a while.

With the latest...

Re: N900:How to connect internet using proxy

In general, you aren't going to have much luck with this.

99% of 3rd party apps won't respect the proxy. I do know gpodder will work after exporting, but that's about it. Microb, firefox, and...

Re: Firefox 1.1 is out

I don't know, but I really like it. Using it more and more now, love the interface.

Anyone found out how to disable rotation yet? Nothing that I have read or tried has worked.

Thanks.

Re: Has anyone replaced the touchscreen/digitiser?

I would ignore the tekseven video. They didn't do it according to the manual, and they also didn't fully disassemble it. The lcd and touchscreen connect to the main flex and have to be removed, is...

Re: Stylus won't go back into slot

I took a picture of the part so you guys can see it.

No idea where the hell it goes.

Assuming it goes somewhere near the entrance to put a small amount of pressure on the stylus and keep it...

Re: Has anyone replaced the touchscreen/digitiser?

Another thing is my slider is much more solid now it seems.

When I got the n900, I was using the n86, which has a silky smooth slider. One of the first things I noticed was how stiff the slider...

Re: Has anyone replaced the touchscreen/digitiser?

I ended up swapping it last night.

Kind of a hard swap. The biggest issue I had was with the framing. It's actually 2 parts that sandwich the touchscreen. Just was pain to separate them.

Also...

Re: fMMS without internet plan

You should be ok, it uses data, but your operators mms apn.

To verify send a couple mms to yourself and then call your operator and ask them how many mms have you used in the billing cycle so far.

Re: Has anyone replaced the touchscreen/digitiser?

I emailed that company and they said its OEM.

I'm gonna go ahead and order it then.

Looking through the repair manual, I see the part about the earpiece adhesive. Anyone know exactly what that...

Has anyone replaced the touchscreen/digitizer?

I had the worst luck and a cigarette cherry came in contact with the screen. It was brief, but the heat still warped the screen a bit. Kinda like a permanent indention.

It doesn't seem to affect...
