Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Sorry for the late reply, been away from Pierogi for a while... Ah well, I'm still trying to clean up both my macro system and my keyboard controls. I think the first thing to check out is in the...

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

Will do. I just realized that code on github is out of date so I'll have to push first, then pull your changes and send for rebuild. I will do that today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the input.

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

the reason that line was there was that there is no reason to have proximityd poll the sensor when the phone is unlocked. We could just set the interval again after each register.

Unfortunately I...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Hey, another update is on its way up to extras_devel right now. I managed to stumble across a massive collection of (potentially dubious) key codes on the hifi-remote website, including keys for...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Thanks! And yeah, that Haier keyset is pretty limited. It is using the "Aiwa" protocol (probably so named because it was designed by Aiwa, and mostly only used by them). And, it's the only TV...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Thanks! But, actually, I already pushed it into extras_devel. :) (I mean, hey, why call it "extras_devel" if we aren't going to use it for development?) So anyway, Pierogi 1.1.10 has the new...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I guess I have to agree. :) I've just implemented the Scan/Pause feature, and I admit that it really is a lot more user-friendly than I remembered. I'm thinking that a panel with a combination of...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Thanks! As for the coding competition, I think its just for software written over the summer, and Pierogi has been around since about January. (Besides, they're only giving away N9s and N950s, and...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

And what's worse is that TVBgone doesn't even know anything about the IR commands it spits out. I've looked at the data in the TVBgone widget, and I have no idea how they manage to update it, as it...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Well, but if you already know the brand, there probably aren't all that many choices to pick through in Pierogi. Only a few brands have as many as 10 TV keysets, and most have much less.

Also, a...

Re: [Announce] Proximity enabled idle screen with time [was:turn the screen on programmatically]

Hm, I never thought of calling it within another script. I was calling it directly from within timenow and nothing happened.

Next version of timenow will just show the lockscreen then :)

Also,...

Re: [Announce] Proximity enabled idle screen with time [was:turn the screen on programmatically]

I used bq27200.sh.
I measured current in flight mode with turned off screen. It was 4 mA.
Then I started timenow and measured current again. It was 10-12 mA.
11-4=7.

Re: [Announce] Proximity enabled idle screen with time [was:turn the screen on programmatically]

Dbus does that, but the proximity sensor doesn't have this ability, so I am using proximityd a daemon written by the author of shortcutd which polls the proximity sensor by default every 100ms (but...

Re: [Announce] Proximity enabled idle screen with time [was:turn the screen on programmatically]

Timenow 0.0.2 should hit devel for real now.

I forgot however to bump the version, but I have changed it to use proximityd. Please test and report battery consumption.

The phone bug is not...

Re: [Announce] Proximity enabled idle screen with time [was:turn the screen on programmatically]

I don't know what is wrong, autobuilder sent me the success email, but I'm leaving in half an hour for vacation and I can't investigate, so I just uploaded the deb here.

Re: Battery Tests, Homemade 3000mAh XL Battery & Q&A

'cantruchd' That's yet another way to do it, and also a good way if the connections doesn't come loose, because then weird battery levels will be reported (voltage) if the battery goes from single to...
