Re: What does android have that the n900 is missing at this point?

1: hype - Nokia is just not cool atm.
2: Design - the N900 is one clunky thingamajig.
3: Diversity - 1 OS, 1 Device (which somehow always seems to happen with Nokias "top of the line" models...)

Re: What does android have that the n900 is missing at this point?

* smoother UI & desktop scrolling
* tons of app developers
* agressive marketing strategy ( to the point that they will talk trash against competitors )
* multi-touch input (unsolvable)

Testing Android to compare

N900 has excelente hardware with a beta software. It is like HULK, too much HW with no too much SW.

I have moved to a Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 with Android 1.5 flashed to 2.1 with custom kernel...

Re: Security on N900?

The main use for virus scanning software on Linux is for those running a mailserver and wants to prevent virus laden email from reaching hapless Windows users.

Re: Get the N900 or Wait?

My recommendation is do not buy the N900, to be correctly saying it, I would say do not buy any other Nokia products anytime this year or next. I don't think Nokia products will be any good anymore....

Re: Get the N900 or Wait?

The reason I did not say what my new phone is after selling my N900 was not to start another endless discussion.....

It goes without saying and I speak for myself, I will never buy another Nokia...

Re: Topic of the Day: Should Nokia Drop Meego and roll with Android?

Depends, Can Nokia pull it off without doing a half bothered job and not dump it half way to chase of a newer project?

If no then definitely go with Android. Nokia put together some sweet hardware...

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread

One day I will use andorid, another maemo5. I like to have many options and phone is the main feature I use on my n900. I don't want to be 'deaf' to the world just because I'm on android :)

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

It's a direct correlate of users not knowing what to do with the device because it sold well in the UK at least i.e poor product support and development.

Coming to a highly geeky forum where you...

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

It all depends how Nokia approach the OS.

With PR1.2 maemo became a stable OS, a well understood system and could have been a stable OS for other Nokia products.

Instead Nokia are going to...

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

It wasn't a natural thing, they didn't want to offer any Meego support. It was only after huge outcry that they offered some compatibilty. Disgusting.

But as this says:
