I just uploaded version 0.0.5 to extras-devel.
This version features an analogous dB meter.
I attached screen shots of version 0.0.3 (upper) and 0.0.5 (lower) so you can see the differences.

The separate plugin packages are not needed with the current version, no - the plugins are bundled into the main mbarcode package instead.

start xterm and type fmrdsnotify &. but note: you have to do this every time you reboot your device - so this is only a temporary solution.
