Yes, it is a viewer and hope alpha release version can be downloaded from Maemo Extras by end of this year

Easy Debian has been in Extras for a long time (for the tablets).

I am really not sure if I want to put it into Extras for the N900. I just don't know if I could handle the overwhelming flood of questions...

Seems there's much to do yet. My files are rendered in a very imaginative way ;) and many of them still crash the application. By now it's better to stick to openoffice or to the dataviz viewer. Though, in the end, Freoffice is going to be the next big thing in my humble opinion.
