Why would Nokia be at Slush? They're certainly no startup. Something's fishy...

Re: Nokias new device

Which Nokia is now tweeting from that account, the old Nokia Phones group that went to Microsoft, or the network division that lives as NSN?

EDIT: Ok found, it's the NSN one :)

Is phablet a smarthphone? I mean could Microsoft sue Nokia if lets say Jolla uses Nokiabrand to create a phablet?

Bundyo 2014-11-17 19:47

Re: Nokias new device

Yes - a phablet is still a smartphone.

I can't say this image revealed much. :D Is it a box? Is that the device? Juiceme mentioned it is running linux, that would not be big surprise. Another Android box for your TV would be disappointing.

As for why they are on Slush. Slush has grown quite a bit and is now held in Messukeskus this year. So if they are looking to announce device at this time in Finland, this is the place to do it.

Granted it is a startup event and Nokia is not a startup company. Though I doubt the people of Aalto university who are behind the nonprofit event were going to say no to Nokia.

Perhaps the reason why Nokia is at Slush is because....
they are somehow...someway ...funding Slush..?
Humhumhumhum...
Would...that make it...
a Slush Fund?

Makes sense to clone them Elopz, with the crazy incentive monetary rewards for them just hanging around a couple of months as CEO and firing people left and right, the return of investment for the creator would be fast and plenty.

Dare I bet the black box is some Android living room data miner annex mind capturing device?

Sad..and what else to expect form A company that threw away its top product when the world was most longing for it.

So far for the Nokia + Jolla dreampartnership speculated on jollatides.

For a Android tablet it looks great.

Though I have moved from tablets after getting macbook air. Sold my iPad 3 years ago and have just been updating my macbook air.

Lets not kid ourself. The world did not want MeeGo/Harmattan whatever and Nokia was already way too late to the game.
