The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

2 Attachment(s)
I looked for a tempered glass screen protector for the Jolla, too bad it doesn't exist.

So the hunt begun for a universal one.

And I found the best one that fits in perfectly:

HTC One M7

This one literally just fits in exactly! So you need to align it EXACTLY on the sides. (which is only good!)

You can get those Tempered screenprotectors for like $1.50 on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252094476653
(this one is even $1.23 with free shipping)

I took some photos with the glass on it.
You can see the upper and lower line of the glass, so you know where it stars and ends (it's just about the right size)

Oh and for those who wants to know what tempered glass screen protector does vs normal screen protectors:

Already using the HTC version for more than a year now and still is in excelent condition, even after falling a few times from my desk, recomendable for the Jolla indeed.

Interesting! No loss of sensitivity or accuracy with the touchscreen?

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

I'm also using One M7 glass protector - fits perfectly from side to side and just below the holes on the top :)

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

The touchscreen works as great as without a protector. Also I got oleophobic, so it was even better for a while :)

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

Actually using standard xperia z3 compact screen foil on Jolla leaves following impression:
1. only speaker cut out fits, there are 3 cut outs more that make no sense on jolla.
2. vertical size is near perfect, protects from top to bottom.
3. horizontal size is smaller than jolla, leaving 2mm unprotected on each side.
4. edges are rounded where jolla has corners
Same with tampered glass or does it actually fit better? picture would be welcome @youmeego!

I can't figure that out without a tablet you know....

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

7.85 inches 4:3 display should size about 160x120 mm. Body is 203x137 mm, looking at pictures we can guess glass size about 190x132 mm. It's okay to have widest part only 180mm if you dont want it to cover camera and sensors.

Seems like you didn't align it perfectly. Like I said, it has to be PERFECTLY aligned. YOu can just deattach and reattach it. It worked for me after 2 times

it's a PERFECT fit :p (as you can see on my pictures)
Edit:
I bought it from http://www.ebay.com/itm/381352415726
(seems like HTC One M7 is out of stock from that seller...)

But let me take a couple more (better) pictures for you to show what I have right now on my Jolla, maybe you've also got the same as I have?

Yeah sure, i expected answer telling me what i'm stupid idiot and not aligned it properly. My eyes are blind and what i see it's just my problem. Why didn't you posted link where you ACTUALLY bought from in the beginning? Why posting it only now?

First of all, there is no need for talk like this coderus. I tried to help you, if you didn't like the answer: Sorry. At least I wasn't sarcastic.

Second: I didn't share because it was already sold out (and it was also a bit more expensive)

Third: I also didn't expect that the one I shared will be like 0.5mm bigger then usual...

Note:
Mine was also a bit bigger, but with a little pressure on the sides, and using it for a day, somehow made it fit in perfectly

So I do hope that it will still fit on your Jolla

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

If i said mine does not fits it means i tried everything and it does not fits actually.

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

Btw, I also had to try 3 times before I got it to fit - the protector width was exactly the size between the bezels (though I used different model from Amazon).

New glass :)
Of course I will test it.

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

Finally I got my glass. Got this one: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00P...ilpage_o00_s00

...and it doesn't fit. Tried it for a while. In the end I even tried to work it with a fine sandpaper and cleaned it afterwards. Finally it fitted, but a corner cracked.

Think I will get a new foil. Wasn't that bad and fitted perfectly.

nieldk 2015-10-17 06:33

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

Well. The liquid fitted fine.
Was easy to apply, and seems to protect - i tried to scratch the glass with a knife and no signs og scratching.
Also seems to help greasy fingers.
There is no changes in screen reflection or light. Disadvantage, og course, is, you (ør, i did) let it Harden for a day after applying.

I put Kristall nano liquid on my Jolla last December, and no scratches on the screen.

Re: The perfect Tempered Glass Screenprotector for Jolla

How does the liquid thingy work on a screen that's been scratched already? Does it hide the scratches?
How does it work on a resistive screen? (Thinking of my old and battered N900 here...)
