ALERT! By using widethemed-remover, this package will restore the configuration of the desktop, and should not be removed or the system stops working, just remove it if you install the package widethemed. The reason is that it restores the system and its files are part of the original theme of the system and without them the tablet will not work.

I added 3 .deb files to my ropository:
1. The hack: widethemed_0.0.1-armel.deb
2. The thema: thinklinux-theme_0.0.8-armel.deb
3. The remover: widethemed-remover_0.0.1-armel.deb (dont uninstall it! or ...)

Re: [Theme] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

Thats cool!
I tried it and its pretty nice, but I can't turn on the Applications button (in the top-right on your screenshot), in the Control Panel → Panels the checkbox is "gray" and empty, i cant use it.
I have a tiny white line on the left side of the screen (from the top to the bottom) and if I tap on this line in different spots I can see my Contacts, Tear bookmarks and Applications menu (like the Navigator bar didn't disappear fully and a tiny line of it left and works). Unfortunately this line is invisible on my screenshots so i can't show it to you.
Any help?
Thanks!

Try install again! or :

Like root:
chown -R user:users /home/user/.osso

Re: [Theme] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

sudo chown -R user:users /home/user/.osso
chown: /home/user/.osso/tutorial/tutorial/lock: No such file or directory
~ $

But I reinstalled it and it works good now. Thanks.
I found the... hm... bug. If i turn on more than 5 applets (Advanced Backlight, load applet etc) the Application button goes out of the screen (I can see only 1/3 of the button). Can you make that if i turn on more than 5 applets the applets area will expand to the right side, not to the left. Where is a lot of free space in this bar to expand.
And can u make next thing: all running applications will shows near "close" button like icons (not the text). cause i don't know how many applications are running in this moment till I press the home (hardware) button.

I do love your theme!

Re: [Theme] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

Hm, I copied switcher-menu.desktop from hildon-navigator to hildon-status-bar. Now I can see all my applications if tap on this button. But the icon is too big for status-bar, so it needs in new one. Can you tell me where are the icons stored? Or if you like this idea you can make it by yourself.
And where I can find a picture for the statusbar background? I want to try change it a bit.

Re: [Theme] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

My .deb do all hard work ...
The icon for switcher-menu is found here:
/usr/share/icons/<THEME NAME>

Re: [Theme] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

svs57, Its ok, look on 8xx.com, i fixed it.
I have edited (85 line i think, don't remember exactly) /usr/share/themes/ThinkLinux/matchbox/theme.xml to fix the length of applets area. The additional arrow appears, but from the other side of the screen. You can't see it because of left applets go out from the screen. In my case all works fine now.

Hey Kroll/Anunakin,
does that mean it's all ready for prime time?
Getting an error when using the link you provided.

IF it's ready can you post some simple steps for how to install it all?

Thanks!!

Yep, alpha version is available.

http://skriblovsky.net/maemo/install.png
A lot of things is undone (virtual keyboard for stylus etc)
A few things can't be done (built-in chat application use black color for text even if I change the value of it to white...)

Please don't remove the package while theme is active.
All settings will be recovered if you remove the package.

DO NOT FORGET TO REBOOT your tablet.

Kroll,

First off, thanks for the release! it looks great!

However I seem to have a bug that does not seem present in your demo video :( the upper left corner of my screen seems to be off. In the first screenshot The statusbar is not aligned all the way to the left, and you can see the Home menu in the space where it should be. And the second screenshot the upper left is just blank, where sometimes it has the app-switcher icon, however pressing it does not do anything.

Other than that, thanks it looks great!

Kroll 2010-05-09 23:11

Re: [Release] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

app-switcher icon shows only if you have more then one application running. I will see what I can do to make it "seems to be on".
about applets - if you have less then 7 applets - they move to the right. Should i make two packages for 6 applets and 7 applets? It's not a right way :(
and black input lines in your browser... I don't know how to make it white back without changing input area color in other places (if I'll do it — you will not able to see what u typing in other places...)

I got used to it really fast. Love the theme.

hey Kroll you did a great job! thx a lot. however, i noticed that there was no way to get back to the desktop once an application is loaded. Maybe it's gonna be better if you leave the app-switcher working as on OS2008.

On the appswitcher screen - just tap anywhere on the screen where there is no application thumbnail.

Hey izzox!
There is no "minimize" button because... There is no "minimize" button in Fremantle.

I advice you to use Telescope task switcher, it's much better then buil-in one. You can visit this link to see, what Telescope is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FhOf4evqtU

I have been playing with this theme and really like it, but this problem still has be stumped. Can you elaborate on this fix? The link does not seem to work.

The only other issue I am currently having is that agps-ui no longer displays the map. It seems to still work, you just can't see where you are pointing! Anyone know how to fix that?

I was also having trouble with it accepting a custom background, but found that /usr/share/themes/default was linked to my old theme, as was /usr/share/backgrounds/default.desktop. I redirected both, and for good measure made ThinkLinux.desktop point at my background of choice.

I think I nutted this one out. In the thread for Fremantle on Diablo I learned that the applet area is always 7 applets wide, regardless of how wide the theme sets it. This theme is, however, set up for 6 applets, so the 7th is off-screen! If you change the theme.xml <panel> definition to use 280 pixels width instead of 250 pixels then everything works as expected. You also need to tweak the other dimensions for the home menu and window title area accordingly. The downside is that the title bar graphics need to be changed too, so that the home menu graphic is in the right spot.

Still no progress on this one.

Re: [Release] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

285 pxls is better. I use 287.
I have tthe same problem with agpsd in my Diablo 5 theme... Don't know why, because the image of it is the image of the clock settings manager and it placed in /usr/shared/icons/hicolor... and it's still there! I have no idea how to fix it.

gigapus 2010-06-15 15:33

Re: [Release] ThinkLinux, (on the way) for Maemo 4

I don't think it is that same icon. The agps-ui picture has a paler background. Compare the clock picture (I assume that this is qgn_indi_worldmap.png) to the one in /usr/share/agps-ui/worldmap.png and you'll see what I mean. I notice that the latter image is 696x396, which is presumably the size of the window under the default theme. Is there a clue there? The clock background is 1500x819!
