Scheduled Backups?
Hi All,
After having to recently reflashing a "reboot loop" N900, I was very greatful to have a backup even though it was at least a month out of date. I was wondering if it's possible to set up some kind of scheduled backup, using the built in backup app. Not sure if there is some kind of task scheduler (like in windows) behind the scenes on the N900, that could be set to run a backup like 1 day a week or something. It'd be nice if such a feature could be built in to the Backup App! But not sure if that's possible without Nokia! Many thanks, Dex |
Re: Scheduled Backups
I would also be interested in a solution for this. Would a brainstorm be an appropriate approach?
EDIT: Added a brainstorm for this: http://maemo.org/community/brainstor...uling_options/ |
Re: Scheduled Backups
Thanks very much.
I still don't fully get how the brainstorms work and what their purpose is, but I know it's a good thing! lol. |

Re: Scheduled Backups?
It would be great if this could backup via WiFi to a remote computer as well.

Re: Scheduled Backups?
I nearly got burnt today by not having a recent back, and found this old post linking to a Brainstorm. Is the Backup applicaton a closed source component? I was thinking of adding this to the Community SSU wish list, just after some thoughts.

Re: Scheduled Backups?
Hm, it should be possible with cron and a backupscript, the webb have a lot of them.

Re: Scheduled Backups?
the program is "osso-backup", so it's probably open source
(unless the oss doesn't stand for open source sfotware, then wha?) |
