Can't change contacts' avatars anymore
 

Recently I noticed a weird problem with my N9. No matter what I do it refuses to change the avatars for my contact list. I can click on the avatar and select new one from the gallery, but it stays the same as before.
I've deleted all images from /home/user/.local/share/data/libqtcontacts-tracker/photos/ and /home/user/.contacts/avatars thinking it would force the phone to download/set new avatars, but it still doesn't work and I've ended up with no avatars at all.
Doing a full reflash would have been a solution, but I don't feel like reinstalling every app and tweak that I have.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Any clues how to solve it?
