Show your best photos taken with N900

I had a lot of fun the last few days taking photos with my N900.
While it has some weakness in indoor low light situations, and the flash is a bit weak, it also has some very good strengths. In particular:-

-High Contrast scenes
-Macro mode
-Colour balance
-Flash Fill in shots have nice balance

All untouched and straight off the N900

A couple of my favorites

and some more if you are interested, you can see the large pics by hitting the slide show after the link.

Here are a couple of shots straight off the N900. The camera appears to not record the ISO value in the EXIF data in "auto" mode.

This is the cove at Butchart Gardens outside Victoria BC at sunset. This is facing northwest.

This one was taken a little earlier in the afternoon in the Japanes Garden.

With practice, the camera can take some very good shots, especially when there is adequate light. The macro mode seems particularly useful. I've taken some excellent product shots with it. It's very handy for on-the-spot captures.

Not the best photo I have but I like it. Taken through a window in low light and no flash.

Not my best, but definitely relevant to the n900.
Note that is uses "digital" zoom. Sadly, the n900 software has chosen upscale it to full resolution.

Not the best picture in the world, but I thought the camera did quite well considering the wind, snow and failing light. This is Sheffield's answer to the London Eye a few days before Christmas.

That is true. My wife's got one and I've done comparison shots between the N82 and the N900 and the N82 always wins. But then you have to remember that it was designed to be an imaging device with a Xenon flash and everything. The N900 can offer so much more in other departments and it's unrealistic to expect it to match the N82 since there are very few phones even today that can do so.

Re: Show your best photos taken with N900

i have a n900 for couple of days ... i was shopping for something with a larger screen and a keyboard ... i keep struggling to get used to it ... but i regret the n82 for some simple and basic issues:
a 2-years old phone with a camera that is not yet matched (except for videos), sip was perfect (still need to learn how to make the n900 show the caller id), navigation was smooth ... with opera browsing was reasonable ...

Here's my first post to this forum and I'm a bit proud of it.. :) Here is a picture I took with my brand new N900 a week ago from my balcony. At night there was a little snowstorm and the cold weather had made beautiful frost in the balcony glass.. So I took a macro of it and posted it to flickr. Enjoy.

Here are three which show how sharp the focus can be. It really is a nice lens if all the proper lighting conditions are met.

radio - the n900 is like most phones - moving action is blurry.

This one came out pretty good, the LED flash made the cat close its eyes.

Fortunately, I'm coming from a different experience. My only previous experience with so-called camera phones was the Motorola E815 and Sony-Ericsson Z710i. These both had pathetic cameras to the point of being virtually useless. They both had pathetic PDA features too. So when looking for a replacement, I needed a huge improvement in both areas. The N900 certainly is that.
