Video Center

I was looking at the recently downloaded titles in Application Manager. I saw Videocenter. I installed it and discovered another great app for N800. It plays TV shows that are either streamed to you or you can download them for later. It's not CBS, but the shows are interesting and informative. It great just to see the streaming TV work, fullscreen and stereo sound. Give it a look.

What show are you having, mind to put up the URL or the way you made it work? So far, we can only get the TV listing, no TV yet, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...?t=9506&page=3.

Videocenter is already in your Apllications Manager. Just find it and install. It works incredibly well. Very informative TV pods.

Re: Video Center

I am sorry that I still did not get it. I have installed videocenter on 9/16 and have played with it everyday, and I cannot find an "update" button inside videocenter. Could you please show me which menu to get to this "update" button? Thanks. When you said 80 TV pods, you mind to name a few? I can see a lot of internet videos, which includes PodshowTV, Rocketboom, Podmedia Reports, MobuzzTV Daily Buss, Street Fury Video Podcast, MODTV, Iggnation, Totally Rad Show, InDigital, Systm, Ripe TV. National Geographics, ABC World News, CNN, Anderson copper 360 etc still failed to work. Are any of these mentioned same as what you said 80 TV pods? Greatly appreciate your help, I am so happy that at least one of us get the TV working, while a whole bunch of everybody is still searching.....

Re: Video Center

XM40, good job. I found the update button, I have been using it unconsciously, thank you. You meant the squire icon that with two opposite arrow, kind of like the escape button of the 770. I think that allows you to watch ONLY MobuzzTV, Dailybuzz and PodshowTV for N800. The menu suggested from the Service Catalogue. Have you found any other URLs/TV leads? Thanks

You can search some of the other threads on Video Center and you'll find URLs.

Thanks Zerojay, I think I already got most of them. However, XM40 was saying something about streaming TV, I would like to see what he is watching.

At this point I have not found any others. Went back and read the posts on Video Center and they are quite extensive. Will look at them more tonight and see if I can figure out how to get more media.:o

Re: Video Center

Is it ok to complain about the shows? Typically a show has a female presenter who loves the iPhone and is very chipper. Some of the presenters are more attractive than others, but they mostly have a similar style that is very wearying after awhile.

I looked for serious stuff and didn't find anything.

Also, I had the feeling that Video Center had many capabilities that I couldn't figure out. I didn't understand, for example, why the Service Center couldn't be clicked on sometimes and could be other times.

In contrast, I've been having a blast on my Windows and Linux desktops with a program called Miro (formerly Democracy Player). I've been watching old episodes of The Sopranos, 30 Rock, Prime Suspect, etc. It works beautifully, and I don't even realize it is downloading stuff in the background till more video becomes available.

I guess it's too much to ask to have something like that for the N800.

Geneven, that is exactly what I what to say, good point! I tried CNN, ABC, Anderson Cooper 360 podshows etc, they are not supported, or not yet! Well, before we are asking for TV, now we are asking for TV contents, Nokia is goin to say your appetite has increased.............and not our fault:(

I'm working on something to integrate a PC's videos (whether downloaded, created, drawn, recorded by MythTV/Freevo/VDR, or from an RSS feed *cough*YouTube*cough*) with Video Center. More info at:
