Not sure about your particular problem. I would try a manual update. |

Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
Looking at your screenshots it would appear "Patchmanager" installed which has caused a lot of issues so try removing it and then use sfos-upgrade as here:https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/xa2-b...4-0-22/2345/38

Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I did a fresh reset and back to Sailfish OS 1.0 :)
That is a hudge difference I will leave it like this because of nostalgia and because i have other devices with last update |

I change to an empty SD card and backup up on that, update OS and put the old SD card back after update. Had no issues, but not my daily phone so not verified it in in very detail. My daily phone is Sony Xperia X which I updated later, after extending size for system data. |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
Is it just me or 3.4.0.24 brings some issues to Android Support? Some of my apps open but stay blank. Others work fine

None of these have experienced any issues in 3.4.0.x. OTOH, I have never, ever been able to install anything from the Google app store. If it isn't availblae in Aptoide, then I am screwed. I have GApps installed (the game requires it). I have Play Store in the launcher. I can browse the store. I can see the app. I can click the "Install" button. Then... it just sits there, spinning, forever. This is not new to 3.4, it has always been like that. I have learned to treat it as a feature and to download and install the game updates (not available in Aptoide) manually. |

The new patch works for me. Quote:
In summary: I never restarted my phone more often then after the last release. Before I restarted like once in 2 weeks because of occasional network freezes which could not be fixed by flight mode or the settings "reset network". Now it's like every third day. :( |

There is somewhere a thread/question/topic (;)) about it. chattr -i is your friend here immediately after uninstalling and reinstalling new (old) version. |

Mine are: Store (I think it's Aptoide, but it stopped calling itself anything discernible ages ago, so no idea now) ... 6.5.3.1 Google Play Store ... 22.6.13-16 [0] [PR] 3399115043 Google Play Services ... 20.36.14 (000300-331796208) It is not a big deal. I am happy updating my game manually, using APK Dowloader ;) |

I have that. It works. The problem is that some applications only have outdated versions there. My game talks to the mother ship and refuses to start unless it is up to date. For that I have to go to the Google Play Store, which does not work for me, despite being installed. EDIT Oh, I see. Crossed posts. So it looks I am waaaaaay ahead: Attachment 41336 Oh well. Never mind. |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I am talking about Google PlayStore.
And yes your version is quite current and you need to downgrade (download 7.x.x.x, uninstall current, install manually older downloaded one and do chattr +i /opt/alien/data/app/com.android.vending-1.apk e.g. https://together.jolla.com/question/...-c-sailfish-x/ https://together.jolla.com/question/...om-play-store/ |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
The last update in my Jolla1 device did no go well. When I switch on the device, the Jolla logo appears a short while and then the screen stays black, the led is lit.
I can access the device through USB, this is what I already tried: Code:
[root@Sailfish nemo]# ssu release 3.4.0.24 |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I assume via USB you mean entering via recovery console?
At this point packagekit does not work yet afaik. Are you able to ssh into the device? Else you might try to install all packages from local cache manually. Was aliendalvik installed? There are lotsbof info on forum.sailfishos.org about broken updates... |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
Thanks for the answer, Peter.
Yes, I can ssh the device. So you mean the packages are in a cache and I can install these, OK, will try this. |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
But if ssh is available packagekit could work...
Maybe this here helps you? https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/xperi...s-blank/2916/5 But first you should think what could have disturbed the upgrade. aliendalvik control phonehook screentapshot (everythingbwith overlay) storeman ... |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I can SSH the device over USB following these instructions.
No idea what has caused the problem, I do not use Phonehook and I reverted all patches before starting the update. Aliendalvik was not active but I did not remove it completely. Maybe this is the cause. I will try to recover the device following the instructions in the link you provided. |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I meant aliendalvik control from coderus on openrepos.
Maybe this here is also good read https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/the-s...ats-it/2282/15 |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
I finally did the upgrade, all's well!
I first unapplied all patches, uninstalled Patchmanager, uninstalled Aliendalvik Control. Strangely, after the update, Storeman was gone (from the menu). I didn't investigate further, reinstalled it from an rpm file, and it's OK now. Anybody seen this? |

Im personally still unsure of updating. As I understood lock code will be mandatory in 3.4.0.24 . I personally like the option that I dont have to use one. Does anybody know a way to avoid it? |

you do end up with device encrypted having to use "default password" during this process. It still does not require a lock code however. |
Re: System update available (3.4.0.24)
@aspergerguy
I do not really get above. When I have flashed device with 3.2.1 and increased root volume already. Why should I end up with encrypted home volume then Could you please elaborate? |
