Phone Camera Competition January 2022 : "Future"
 

Hi folkys,

After a three month post-holidays Camera competition holidays,:rolleyes: here is relaunched the traditional phone camera photo competition.
I personally need some fresh inputs on a certain subject.
This subject seems to me also adapted to the first year day/month.
And it iiiiiis: "Future"

Rules (just copy-pasted):
Photos must be taken during this month and posted before voting starts.
Photos must be taken by the posting member.
Photos must be taken with your phone's camera.
Post processing is allowed but you have to say what you did.
Users must name the phone and software they used.
Users post only one photo per entry.
Users can change the entry only once.
3 day voting period starts on January 28th at 20:00 UTC and ends on the evening of January 31th.
Winner of the vote should choose the next month competition theme.
You are allowed to continue off topic on this thread after competition.

Here is my proposal.
SFOS Sony Xperia (stock camera, what else? :( )
Cropped on device
Light quickly reworked on Darktable.

It is related to the subject because in the future, we want to keep our wheels round, even if we open the engine hood!

Thanks for keeping this alive!

To be honest i found it quite difficult to make a picture with the theme future. :eek:

Like the cliché goes, the future looks bright… It's the middle of winter, but it looks like early spring (the sea hasn't frozen), like a glimpse to the near future…

My entry for competition if it is still open.

Moto G8, unofficial LineageOs 18.1, googlecam. Slightly cropped and darkened.

My future. Changing to a new job after 14 years fixing wood and metal work tools and machines in elementary schools. Frienf hired to help cristian rap and club music production and event organizing. Starting on tuesday. Have been making this over 3m long cross out of 5/5" wood for a week now which comes to the yard of the studio house.



EDIT: Changed image. I have already carved the shapes but in the other image the circle was not in place. Gonna try to make it look like stone. Black color for background and with sponge the grey on top.

The two figures are by a company called NECA (National Entertainment Collectibles).
The DeLorean is one of those part work builds in 1/8 scale from Eaglemoss. Took over 2 years to complete and weighs in at a hefty 8Kg.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to remain uncultured :(

EDIT: I seems to be fixed now, so I can get cultured after all. But I find ric9k's post therein rather bizarre. You literally replace the car's engine and strip away all mirrors then you act surprised that you cannot drive as fast. Instead of being grateful that you can still drive at all.

Yes-no.
I fully assume that making experiment and changes can 'slow the car'. Technically, no problems.
I am very very grateful of what I have in my hands (XA2 SFos), all issues (~none in my case) included.
Please unerstand: I am not a consumer installing SF after 10 years Android and cryying everywhere on the forum because the LED doen't light the right color, without reading anything.

I was just surprised by Sony's practice on an "Open Device".
Being very naive and optimist, I was disappointed to read that Sony is not sharing the camera capabilities to anyone but only to Android users. I thought the camera functions and qualities would stay with the phone, whatever the used OS.

Well, I am a bit late...

For my vote, I hesitate between two pictures:
Fellfrosch, where I really like the light and colors/general feeling,
and
Pichlo's ;) :)

But As the theme was "Future", I'll be be reasonable: +1 for Fellfrosch.

Nothing much, you just

• think of a theme
• open a thread in General
• copy-paste the title and most of post #1 from this thread over, make adjustments where appropriate (dates, and your theme)

Then at the end of the month (as you advertised) you have to gather all entries and ask for votes, and declare the winner in the end.
Look at previous threads, this one (and the one before) were a little out of the ordinary. The thread title always contains "Phone Camera Competition", easy to find.
