So... the last day of the month. Who won?

I have always interpreted that rule as, "photos taken before the current month will be disqualified".

Or, to put it simply, "photos must be taken between announcing the theme and starting the voting".

Yes this seamed always clear to me too.
Do you mean it should be formulated differently or did one entry not comply?

But I agree with the outcome.

Well stop supplying great pictures then! :D
But yeah, thanks for doing the honors again, I can see you already made a new thread.

In any case that's the most important bit IMO.

I thought a bit more about my proposal to weaken the rules, and came to the conclusion that maybe it isn't such a good idea.

Still, I'd phrase it like this:

"photos must be taken during the month of the theme and before voting starts"

I mean, what if someone is really late announcing the month's theme and you happen to have a perfectly fitting picture from that month already?

Haha, ok, I'll do ma best doing worse.

Concerning changing the rules, yeah, why not the "during the month" and "before voting starts".
In the same time, I often regretted I couldn't use one from my old pictures. But I noticed it was a good thing. Hence I was more aware of the thread/forum/people here by searching what I could picture during the month.
So this constraint of making the picture FOR the theme is interresting IMHO.
But I could live with changes if a majority decide so.

No change to rules is my opinion (which rules out my picture from this competition). Let the rules be stronger than men, and this place stays strong even when the men become weak. And it keeps things simple and clear.

How did Monty Python predict so many of the things the age of the internet would bring? Even spam!
Think about it, that clip is 40 years old, and it could be a current satirical comment on current affairs.

To be fair, they did not predict spam. The modern meaning of the word is a homage to them.

As far as predictions go, even bronze age Mediterranean goat herders "predicted" a lot of things that still apply today. They even compiled it in a book that became a global bestseller over the milennia.

It's easy to predict when some things never change. The only thing that changes is the means by which things don't change.
