Is handwriting recognition still supported? If so, has it been improved?

Thank you Mara!
Do you know, if they fixed the mysterious video hardware error. (can't remember ... has something to do with the tearing effect ... or ... video playback) I hope you know, what I mean.

@zerojay
The page is working for me!

O man, now I get it...or at least want to. I see now that what I really want is the 2008 OS! This is what Texrat has been hinting at! Now, for the moment, I do not plan to buy the N810 because I'm really happy with my current hardware (no need for the slider keyboard for me...I've just discovered the Apple BT and it works great!).

No, what I really want is this new OS! I'm hopeful that it will allow for more customization at the 'desktop' level. Can you confirm/deny this Texrat?

The N810 is a monument of mediocrity. Boring.

For me the news of the day is the announcement of an official SDK for the iPhone/Touch.

They even have some good words for Nokia :)

Quote: "Some companies are already taking action. Nokia, for example, is not allowing any applications to be loaded onto some of their newest phones unless they have a digital signature that can be traced back to a known developer. While this makes such a phone less than “totally open,” we believe it is a step in the right direction."

Typical fanboy..... you really have no place here. Go and enjoy your iphone news on engadget!!

If there is transparency and animations there must be some sort of graphics acceleration... I have a small dribble of drool that is eagerly awaiting official word of power vr support.

Ironically, the page only works in IE and not Firefox.

Dang this thread is growing like wildfire...

When I snagged this quote it was only 9 pages as I checked to see if it was posted...

By the time I got to the end it was up to 14!

The Nokia N810 is powered by maemo Linux based OS2008, updatable also on the Nokia N800, the previous internet tablet generation hardware. The Nokia N810 features a highly customizable user interface and contains various novelties such as a Mozilla based browser with Ajax and Adobe flash 9, Bluetooth headset support as well as enhanced video and audio features. The refreshed Video Gizmo, Skype and Rhapsody highlight some most popular downloads available while Boingo Wireless, Earthlink and The Cloud enable Wi-Fi connectivity, across thousands of different locations globally.
^ that says it all to me :)

I can keep my N800 and try to cook the clock in order to keep up with the 810's marginal speed increase.
The real question on the new OS is if it now takes advantage of the on board accelerators.
