What GPS chipset does the N810 use? Does it allow for assisted GPS when in range of the internet, for quicker satellite fix?

Does it still have the FM chip, because I've heard it doesn't.

Anyone know what wi-fi chipset is in the 810? would it be the same one for the 800? If not, anyone know if the offical driver will be made public this time around?

Also, has anyone seen images of the 810's internals yet? I remeber the 800 was out not too long after it was released, even though the 810 hasn't offically been released, I figured someone would have cracked the demo ones open!

Thanks

PS Like the new look... can't wait to get one...

Um, I don't agree with you on Citrix, but I just wanted to tell you how to make it happen. You're going to need a *lot* of people asking for it though, and I just don't see that happening.

What is the version of MicroB browser on N810?

(On N800, it is 0.0.8-3 and can be found in Application manager-->Show Installed Applications)

RE: From what I understand, AGPS relies on cell tower communication not wifi..so since the N810 is not a phone..it will not allow for AGPS

Not quite what I meant by assisted GPS though there are two different technologies that I've heard referred to in this manner. One is that which you mentioned, but its also possible for quite a few GPS units to download the ephemeris data from the internet, in order to speed up the satellite fix. IE, it'd make it akin to a hot start every time you connect, giving a fix in the order of a few seconds, rather than the 30-60 seconds it generally takes for a cold start. Also, this would help because the satellite data that you download means that you wouldn't have to have great signal in order to get that fix, if you've got a weaker signal it will still be able to lock on. (The ephemeris data downloading via satellite requires you to have I believe 5 satellites available, and after its downloaded I think you can work with 3, or something along those lines.)

Here's a question (hope it hasn't been answered yet): will Nokia offer a developer discount program like they did for the N800? That's probably the only way I'll get one, and I'd like to assure that Maemo Mapper works on the N810, even if it's made obsolete by built-in mapping applications....

My understanding is there is no built in mapping application. It was an additional purchase. Perhaps I read incorrectly somewhere, but this confused me, why put the hardware in if your not providing the software.

Good luck on the free one, I doubt they would provide one to a rogue like myself  (Let be clear though, I am not a developer, I am a hack!, I am not worthy to be in the same category :D )
